Taste: An explosion of sweet, overripe banana plucked straight from the fruit bowl mixes with hints of coffee and sweet Caribbean rum all layered on top of a smooth malt base. Oaky tannins and just a hint of lingering hoppy bitterness joins in, leaving you with an insanely decadent, dessert like finish.
Appearance: Jet black with a dark brown head.
Nose: Sweet freshly baked chocolate banana bread, fruity aged rum and molasses mix with subtle hints of smoke and foam banana sweets. Caramelised bananas foster and hints of warming mixed spice lure you into your first sip.

Tap at Indoor. Black pour with a creamy beige head. Nose is intense (and somewhat artificial) banana bomb with notes of booze, chocolate, rum and oak. Interestingly the banana notes turn more natural with warming. Taste is sweet notes of banana, chocolate, coffee, rum, oak, molasses, dark sugars and caramel with a light fruity hint. Sweet for sure, but not cloying. It has a big, creamy body and soft carbonation. It grew on me while sipping.

Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color stout with a dark brown foamy head with some retention and some lacing notes. Aroma of black chocolate notes with banana syrup notes with some rum notes also noticeable. Taste is also a mix of black chocolate notes with some banana syrup with some rum notes and residual sugar notes. Body is full with oily texture with good carbonation with some alcohol notes that are discernible. Heavy barrel-aged stout with a weird banana flavor that somewhat works.

Bouteille en importation via Phil Boutin. Des notes de banane à profusion dans un olfactif pâtissier présentant également des accents de caramel, de mélasse et de rhum. Filet de mousse effervescente et éphémère. Liquide noir et opaque. En bouche, c’est plutôt la mélasse et le caramel qui dominent. La banane et le rhum s’ajoutent à la palette mais en moindre proportion. Le chocolat est également en sous-note. On y décèle une amertume très discrète. L’accent est mis surtout sur le caractère pâtissier au détriment du style de base. Sucrée au maximum elle se veut une vrai bière dessert. Avec gâteau aux bananes en accompagnement. Pici, villámgyorsan elillanó hab, vörösesfekete szín. Csokis, kakaós,, kávés, aszalt gyümölcsös illat, intenzívrumos aromával. Csokis, kávés, rumos, vaníliás ízek. Testes, édes, enyhén szénsavas, közepesen keserű. Nem rossz, de még nincs teljesen összeérve, hagyni kellett volna legalább fél évet.

200ml draught at Brygg. Shared with Finn. Patches on the surface of a pretty black body, scattered lacing. Sweet smell of banana and chocolate. Rich and sweet taste of ripe banana og chocolate. Prolonged finish, slightly roasted. Pretty decent, just a tad too sweet in the long run. (Oslo 28.11.2022).
