Taking inspiration from our flagship beer, The Porter, we wanted to brew a truly sessionable London Porter.
What better way to create an effortlessly drinkable dark beer than to make it nitro. The resulting creaminess and smooth mouthfeel balance perfectly with the subtle roasted notes of coffee and chocolate.
The beer brings together the rich history and heritage of London Porters, with the modern techniques of brewing nitro beers. The result is a beer that is easy drinking, without sacrificing its character.

Keg draught at Tønne, Leicester. Dark brown and opaque with a thick khaki/tan head. Light-ish aroma with prominence given to roasted malts and a touch of liquorice. Sweet taste, toasty malts and creamy mocha with a bitterness coming in mid-sip but never taking the balance too far away from the sweet. Chocolate and light liquorice in the aftertaste. Creamy body, soft to medium carbonation.

One-third pint, keg at Kings Arms, shared with Finn. Creamy off-white head, patchy lacing, almost black in the glass. Mid-sweet chocolate aromas, lightly roasted. Creamy chocolate flavours. Rounded roasted mid-sweet ending. Medium bodied. Satisfying. (London 15.11.2021).

29 September 2021. Cheers to the lovely Anke - and to my birthday!
Cloudy black, stable, foamy, beige head. Aroma of toast, brown bread, chestnut, tobacco, ash, prune. Taste has sweetish prune & fig in a brown-bready malt body, a bit nutty, toasty. Earthy hoppy finish with ashy coffee effect. Medium body, slick texture, soft carbonation. Very old-school, so cool.

15/IX/21 - on NITRO tap @ DOK Brewing Company (Gent), BB: n/a (2021-1092)
Clear black beer, small dense creamy beige head, very stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: nice, very malty, good roasted malts, very aromatic, hint of cow fodder, rural impression. MF: soft to no carbon, medium body. Taste: pretty bitter, nice roast, pretty dry, bit malty, cow fodder. Aftertaste: little bitter, very watery alas, too light, not impressive. Was expecting more from the smell… the nitro on the tap can’t make up for the watery flavour impression…
