Taking inspiration from our flagship beer, The Porter, we wanted to brew a truly sessionable London Porter.
What better way to create an effortlessly drinkable dark beer than to make it nitro. The resulting creaminess and smooth mouthfeel balance perfectly with the subtle roasted notes of coffee and chocolate.

The beer brings together the rich history and heritage of London Porters, with the modern techniques of brewing nitro beers. The result is a beer that is easy drinking, without sacrificing its character.

Can from The Beerhive. Black body with a tight beige head. Fine carbonation. Good lacing. Aroma of charred wood, nuts and dark chocolate. Flavour of coffee, raisins, milk chocolate and brambles. Medium body with a smooth, creamy mouthfeel. Soft fizz. Rich and delicious. As good as I hoped it would be.

On tap at That Beer Place, Chester. Pours almost black with a small tan head. Not much of an aroma – just some hints of roasted malts. Rather watery in the mouth with roasted malts again to the fore, plus hints of coffee. Later on some hints of liquorice, chocolate and oats, plus a little bitterness in the finish. It’s OK, but rather disappointing to say the least.

Keg @ Platform, Glasgow. Black with a thickish light-brown creamy head. Nice mix of floral and roasted in its aroma, but the latter is more prevalent in taste, with an excellent crispness to its texture.

250 ml tap. Murky dark brown with a very dense creamy head. Robusta coffee, toffee, burnt malt, some smoke and ashes, licorice, some citrus, cocoa. Dry bitterness, smoky umami, some sweetness. Medium bodied, creamy texture, soft carbonated, dry roasty toasty malty bitter finish. Superb mouthfeel, very complex, really like the smokiness in here.
