A rare find. 330 can. Pours black with light head. Aromas of chocolate, toasted malts and very soft bourbon. Flavors of dark caramel, soft oak, dark fruit (with still some fruitiness…) and sweet bready malts. Holding up well in a can though suspect it’s softened some. Very good.

Dark brown with lasting head. There's sweet raisins and vanilla but also a slight sour note, probably from the wood. The sourness takes the edge off would otherwise be a good beer.

Can shared thanks to Paul. Dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma of overripe dark fruits, raisins, red vinous notes, oak, vanilla, caramel, butterscotch and figs. Flavour is heavy sweet and moderate bitter. Full bodied with alcohol warmth and soft carbonation.

Can at home. Pours deep ruby amber, nose is blackberry, caramel, toffee, caramel, honey, taste is similar, juicy, jammy fruit, some vanilla fudge from the barrel. Pretty good. --- Beer merged from original tick of Barrel Project 21.08 on 27 Oct 2021 at 08:53 - Score: 8

33 cl. bottle @ home, bought @ Kulenborgse Bierhandel.
Hazy dark brown with a beige head. Dark caramel aroma with some figs, plums and raisins. Also some vanilla and bourbon notes. Sweet caramel taste with a sweet boozy bourbon finish. Bourbon barrel aged barley wine is one of my favorite BA combo's but this one is way too sweet.

0.33 l can from 'Ace Drinks', best before October 2025. Slightly hazy, very dark ruby with a medium large, frothy, almost stable, beige head. Sweetish-malty, gently fruity aroma of molasses, quite some bourbon, vanilla, raisins and light honey. Fairly sweet, malty, gently fruity taste of molasses, raisins, lots of bourbon, brown sugar, some vanilla and light oak, followed by a medium long, gently bitter, boozy and a little woody finish. Medium to full body, smooth and slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Rather intense, nicely warming sipper, quite heavy on the barrel which works quite well.
