Fremont Bonfire Brown Ale 6% A deep mahogany brown with a tan head and a sweet molasses caramel aroma. Full bodied with a roasty Smokey flavor and raspy carbonation. I would’ve liked a bit more smoke on the nose but this is solid. The Ise Kadoya American Brown went down way smoother though.

Can Pours brown with some brownish foam, normal amount of it. Nose is quite simple, light sweet caramel, malty and with a bit of roast. Not very hoppy in the taste, displaying more or less traditional brown ale flavours. Simple and sturdy, working-man brown ale. Not very special but well made.

12 oz can into a Lowenbrau (Munchen) stemmed tulip glass on 15th Jan 2018 in California while on holiday. Brown bodied, sediment evident, lacing on the off-white, but thin head. No fireworks here, no sparkle or pop, bang wallop and a distinct lack of flare. However the beer has a malty and semi-sweet nature and it's alcohol level suits it, no need for every beer to be high in it's ABV. Sadly this beer came after a couple of 'heavy hitters' in the tasting session, so I might be slightly unfair in my assessment in it's worth. Scored objectively.

On Tap hazy chestnut, full dense tan head. Caramelized brown malt notes, and a litel holiday spice. Plenty of bitterness for a brown. Aggressive clean and big.

Can from Boise Co-op. Was expecting more of s winter warmer, but this a straight up brown ale, nothing too exciting. Dark, clear brown, adequate foamy head. Pretty solid lacing. Mild roast grain aroma, mildly sweet. Taste features the roast graind, with some sugary sweetness towards the back. Long lingering bitterness finishes it.
