330ml bottle. Slightly cloudy, amber colour with average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Mild, smoky malty and herbal hoppy aroma, notes of smoked ham, smoked eel, a touch of salami, a very light caramel touch. Taste is moderately bitter, herbal-grassy hoppy, mildly smoky malty, minimally fruity, hints of smoked eel, apple, wood. Watery texture, indifferent palate, medium, mildly prickly palate. Mild smokiness, not overly complex - nice.

Dark copper with a thin, frothy head. Smoke aroma but definitely more subtle than, for example, a Schlenkerla. Has a soft, fruity note underneath. The mildness hints at an Obstholz being used. There’s also rich caramel and a hint of bubblegum that doesn’t altogether fit, but can be overlooked. Taste is mildly roasted bitter with a hint of chocolate. Lingering smoke on the tongue. Medium-bodied, mild carbonation, slightly watery texture. Pleasant.

Flascherl: Hazy, copper coloured, slowly collapsing loose off-white head, mild to moderate sweet-bitter herbal-malty nose with distinctive traces of woodfire and delicate traces of burnt rubber; moderate sweet and mildly bitter flavour, medium bodied and soft; lingering sweet malty finish almost without any smoke, low bitterness. A bit monotonous, weird aroma…

Bottle picked up from Appel Getränkemarkt, Moosburg and consumed Sunday 12th December 2021 listening to Low - Ones and Sixes. We had a great Rump Steak that we cooked in the Komodo Joe for tea tonight. Pours hazy warm gold with a white head. On the nose this is more lightly smoked fish territory than ham, taste probably edges back the other way though. Fruity, smokey, malty, light sweetness with a little burnt toffee, it's pretty good.
