Bottle from Drankenhandel Leiden. Aroma is roasted malt, chocolate, coffee, fruity notes from the hop including some citrus. Flavour is medium bitter. Body is almost medium. Very good as always, roasty with chocolate and a hoppy touch.

Bottle picked up at Væskebalancen - Valby and drunk at home (03/03/2022) - black with a tan head. Dark roasted and sweet malty with notes of chocolate, liquorice, ashy charred roast, piney hoppy undertones, light coffee into the lingering roasted malty finish. Lovely.

8/1/2022. Bottle sample courtesy of SHIG, cheers. Pours almost black with a small frothy beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, milk chocolate, coffee, citrus, cocoa powder, hint of liquorice and ash. Moderate sweetness, light roasted bitterness. Moderate body, soft carbonation. Light dryness to finish. Nicely done.

Bottle at home picked up from the brewery. A clear chestnut brown coloured pour with a frothy light tan head. Aroma is big sappy pine, dry roast, some woody bark, some green liquorice. Flavour is composed of dry roast, woody pine, twist of citrus, light smokey note, singed pine tips. Palate is semi crisp dry, fine mellow carbonation, drying finish. Flavoursome.

Smaakt prima na een dag hakken in de mijn. Zwartgeroosterde mout, fijn uitgebalanceerde hinten van noten, koffie, houtskool, chocola, citrusschillen. Romig en zacht, lekker luchtig en licht. Top.

Bottle at home. Black with creamy brown head. Dry cocoa, light earthy, solid roasted notes with a touch of bread crust and caramel underneath. Also quite some hops with lime and grapes. Slighly watery, light sweet and light dry. Good.

Bottle at home in Hackney - sourced from Arch 7. Pours black-brown with a tough, tight, creamy beige head. Top to bottom, this is excellent. Lightly sweet with well roasted malts, a little ash, citrus rind, melon, dark chocolate, scorched earth, burnt biscuits, nips of pine. Light bodied with fine, massaging carbonation. Balanced finish, lip-smacking burnt sugars, dark malts, roast, baking cocoa, a little gooey pine and orange. Delicious. Just in a totally different league.
