Das rheinische Alt ist ein traditionelles obergäriges Bier, der Geschmack ist rein und der Abgang mild. Die tiefe Kastanien Farbe stammt von einer guten Portion Weyermann® Münchner Malz sowie einem Hauch Weyermann® CARAFA® Spezial Typ I. Dieses Bier mit seiner beigefarbenen Schaumkrone überzeugt im Bouquet mit leichten Bananenestern und Nelken, röstigen Schokoladenaromen und hopfigen Zitrusnoten. Am Gaumen sind Hopfen und Malz bittersüß im Gleichgewicht. Im Geschmack findet sich eine feine Kombination aus milder Schokolade, Karamell und Kakao wieder. Durch leichte Aromen von eingelegten Pfirsichen bekommt diese deutsche Bierspezialität eine erfrischende Komponente mit auf den Weg. Der Abgang ist angenehm herb und trocken - genau wie es dieser Bierstil vorgibt.

0.33 l bottle from the brewery's web shop, best before December 2025. Clear, ruby with a medium large, frothy, almost stable, beige head. Sweetish-malty, a bit fruity aroma of caramel, wet leaves, nuts and light raisins. Moderately sweet, gently bitter, malty and a little fruity taste of caramel, nuts, wet leaves and a touch of raisins, followed by a medium long, gently bitter, slightly dry finish. Medium body, gently effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Solid Alt, nicely bitter and dry.

Trocken röstiger, wenig süßer Beginn. Deutlich getreidig, moderate Bitterkeit, süffig, zunehmend würzig. Milde Kaffeenoten, ansteigend herb, langer Nachgeschmack. Gut. 10/11/11/11/9/11

A clear orange brown beer with a beige head. Aroma of intense caramelized malt, hazelnuts, bread. Taste of hazelnuts, dark caramelized malt, spicy hops, okay!

Bottle at the fan shop in Bamberg. Sat outside in the rain. Clear dark brown beer Lasting tan head. Lovely malty flavour. Some tea tannin. Decent malt. Light hopping Ok alt bier.

22/VIII/24 - 33cl bottle from Weyermann Living & Drinking (Bamberg, DE), shared @ holiday in France, BB: 26/XII/24 (2024-792)

Clear reddish brown beer, small creamy beige head, a little stable, a bit adhesive, leaving some lacing in the glass. Aroma: a bit floral, caramel, malty, grains, gentle roast. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: pretty malty start, good bitterness, fruity, caramel, a little sweet, soft roast, more caramel. Aftertaste: sweet, some banana, slightly sourish, hoppy, nice stuff, very decent!

Bottle shared by Joes. Dark apple juice golden color, average sized white head. Aroma is malts, brown malts, very grainy. Flavor is heavy brown malts, wholegrain breadcrust, raw malts, grains. Nah, not a fan.

ABV: 4.8%. Cloudy medium amber colour with a large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, straw, caramel, dusty, light nutty, light to moderate hoppy, light toffee. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration, caramel, sweet malt, straw, nutty, dusty, dry'ing. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20210727]

Brown with a frothy, off-white head. Aroma of roasted grains, smoke, chocolate. Faint plum. Duller than usual if approached too cold but develops nicely. Bittersweet throughout. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation. Nice, smooth feel. Tasty.
