Bottle split at the Black Iris taproom thanks to Monsieur Rose, Notts get together, 07/07/23. Black with a khaki head. Nose is chocolate, spice, toffee fudge, trace of candied orange peel. Taste comprises chocolate, roast, Turkish Delight, peanut butter, modest tonka, dark malts, fruit tang. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced rise of alcohol. Tidy sipper but can always go more Tonka and perhaps barrel.

Bottle share at the Nottingham trip 7.7.23. Thanks Chris. Dark brown, beige/khaki head. Spicy aroma, some grape, some aniseed, vanilla. Sweet taste, a lot of gentle liquorice, some treacle. Bitter herbs in the finish. Light body for the ABV. Flat body. Pretty incredible.

375ml bottle. Pours black with a thin tan head. Aroma of raspberry jam, chocolate, subtle JD. Taste is very jammy, so much raspberry - no ingredients listed though (flavourings?), base is sweet and chocolatey, mild tonka, there's no peanut at all. Body felt somewhat thin - medium-ish, but it's very smooth and the JD comes through nicely at the end. Tasty but doesn’t fully deliver.
