From Amstein, drinking it on saturday after the birthday of my daughter, great day, great beer, a way that I love to make ipa, full body, malty, dry and smooth, resinous, fruity, generous bitterness, citrus, floral and aromatic, something else?

330ml bottle. Clear, chestnut colour with ruby shimmer and average to huge, frothy to creamy, moderately lasting and lacing, minimally grey-ish, white head. Slightly toasty, malty aroma with a spicy touch of rye, rye crisp bread, very light, doughy yeasty overtones. Taste is toasty malty and slightly citrusy fruity hoppy, hints of rye crisp bread, some lemon, widely disguised, weak, doughy yeasty overtones. Watery texture, smooth and soft palate, fine, soft, mildly prickly carbonation. Balanced, drinkable - very nice.

Brown with a creamy, white head that lasts the duration. Aroma of grains with a whiff of the artificial fruitiness that plagues so many beers in the style. Taste is mildly bitter on a sweet undertone and is definitely the highlight. The bitterness is just assertive enough to take charge and the overall blend is pleasant and refreshing. Medium to light bodied, mild carbonation. Good.

Dark copper to chestnut, fluffy eggshell head. Flowery, berry roast aroma with a hint wort behind it. Medium light body, light sparkly dry. Straw malt, roast, light fruits, herbal bittering hop finish, light worty, berry retronasal. Quite pleasant to drink.
