Pushing the boundaries of barrel-aged stouts is in our DNA, and with that, we brought to life our first-ever cola-inspired variant. Brewers Paul Cade and Jason Krasowski bonded over their love for a classic cola while creating the Classic Cola Stout. Combining the refreshing nature of classic cola and picking up the flavor profile from a whisky cola, we added lime and orange juice and zest, plus coriander, cassia bark, nutmeg, brown sugar, and vanilla to bring out the complex characters of the classic drink. This is the ultimate twist on a whiskey cola and a must-try for Bourbon County Stout, cola, or whiskey/cola lovers.

Tap @ Mikkeller, Aarhus. Black with a beige head. Aroma is sweet, roasted malt, chocolate, light spicy and bourbon. Flavor is very sweet and moderate bitter. Sweet and moderate bitter finish with warming alcohol. Oily and soft. 280924

Tap @ Mikkeller Aarhus. Pours black with a thin brown head. The aroma is sweet, roasted malt, bourbon, cacao and cinnamon. The taste is pretty sweet and a little bitter.

Draught at Barreled Souls, 11/24/23. Dark, undetermined clarity. Tan head quickly to edges. Doesn't smell over-adjuncted but I'm sure that's a product of time as I heard this was brutal initially. Here's it smells like licorice-forward BCBS but no overt heavy adjunct. Clean and malty. Caramel, vanilla, chocolate. Soft, chewy, rich, lightly sweet with spicing in balance, certainly present but again, no more than strong licorice. Good aging here, it still tastes not oxidized and rich, malty. No booze.

Pours black with almost no head. Aroma's: sweet, fudge, caramel, chocolate, a bit herbs. Retronasal: bourbon, sweet, spices caramel, boozy. Flavour is heavy sweet, light roast and bourbon. Full bodied. Alcohol is warming but not too sharp. Long sweet finish.

Bottle split at the last minute CBJ Tasting (big thanks Marcin for hosting), thanks to Tipple for this one, 13/07/23. Black with a tan cap that thins to edgework. Nose is chocolate, toffee, molasses, bourbon aroma, dried red berries. Taste comprises dark malts, chocolate, a splash of Cola evident, bourbon rip, light charr, spice, ripe dried fruit rinds, dates. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a kiss of alcohol. Decent kit ... kind of shouldn't work but did.

Bottle shared in London - cheers to Tipple. Pours deep brown with a creamy beige head. Medium to big sweet flavour, boozy, some chocolate, cola-like notes, earth, vague botanicals. Medium to full bodied with average carbonation. Sweet and warming finish. Not bad.
