Bottle at Csaka. Pours a darker copper with an off-white head. Nose is dark sugars, toffee, light esters, dried fruits and a subtle hint of oak and booze. Some vanilla too. Taste is somewhat sweet, slightly boozy and somewhat tannic. There’s nuts, dried fruits, vague molasses, bready-toffeeish malts and a hint of booze. Light bodied with soft carbonation, drinks below the ABV but the warming booze’s there as a reminder. It’s a bit too thin and the barrel aging’s way too subtle.

1/II/25 - 33cl bottle @ Nieuwjaarsreceptie Gentse Biervereniging (Ledeberg), BB: IX/2025, L20210059 (2025-81) Thanks for sharing the bottle!

Little cloudy red brown beer, small aery irregular beige head, unstable, a bit adhesive. Aroma: oxidized, yeasty, lots of banana, whisky, caramel, earthy, leather, some tobacco notes. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: nice, some sweet malts up front, caramel, lots of alcohol, whisky, slightly roasted, a bitter touch. Aftertaste: more bitterness with that gentle roast, a bit spicy, alcohol, decent!

Dark reddish brown colour with thin head. Plenty of vanilla in the aroma and taste. Boozy sweet malty whisky is noticeable. Slightly less spicy than the standard version.

dark mahogany colour with ruby notes, large, creamy beige-ish ecru head; aroma of bourbon vanilla, prune, dried sour cherry, chocolate, butterscotch, some whisky and woody notes; taste has the same notes with less intensity compared to the aroma and quite intensive whisky-like spicy alcoholic notes and some burnt bitterness; I like it very much - especially the aroma (if its taste had the same balance and intensity, it would be a perfect beer)

Bottle shared. Mahogany with big creamy beige head. Figs, floral, earthy, soft vanilla, chocolate mousse, cloves. Medium sweet and bitter. Full bodied, slightly dry. Nice, much better than the non BA version.

Dark brown colour, beige foam. Nose of liquorice, sweet malts, brown sugar, fruity, light whisky finish. Rather thin body.
