Bottle shared in London - big thanks to Dave. Pours black-brown with a bubbly, tan head. Medium to big sweet flavour with ample chocolate, soft roast, vanilla, gooey marshmallows, light earth. Full bodied, oily and lightly chewy, with fine carbonation. Lightly warming finish, more torched marshmallows, earth, cocoa, raisins. Delicious.

Taster showing pitch black with a ring of latte colored foam.

The nose shows intense notes of brownies and bourbon in the background and lighter hints of smoke, cacao nibs, and caramel.

The palate is well carbonated and medium to light bodied. Medium sweet with moderately intense flavors of toasted almond and coconut with lighter flavors of maple syrup and vanilla with a balanced bourbon background.

Probably the last beer I’ll have in 2022 so I decided to make sure it was a good one! Prairie BA Moose Boots BA Imperial Stout with Maple Syrup, Toasted Almonds and Vanilla 13% Deep motor oil black with a thin fizzy rusty head of dark foam. It’s got a maple syrup and bourbon oak over savory dark bitter cacao. Full bodied & smooth with heat. The taste starts off sweet maple syrup, then barrel notes of oak and bourbon with boozy heat before you get sweet vanilla maple dark chocolate syrup in the finish. Great winter warmer.

Bottle. A- Booze, chocolate, vanilla, caramel. A- Black color, black liquid, minimal head. T- Booze, chocolate, vanilla, very sweet. P- Full body, average texture, average carbonation, cloying finish. O- Too sweet, almost sickingly so.The barrel aging is too strong and the vanilla and chocolate are very sweet. The maple seems to add sweetness rather than flavor. Wanted to love it and it was on track, but 2-3 oz of this would have been plenty. Prairie can do better.

12 oz. bottle, pours jet black with a small light brown head. Aroma brings out lots of toasted almonds, cocoa, vanilla beans, and gentle bourbon barrels. Flavour is full of maple syrup, molasses, burnt sugars, vanilla beans, and some bourbon barrels. Lots of dark sugars, maple syrup, and bourbon on the finish. Thick, viscous and complex. Certainly on the sweet side but tastefully so. Excellent.

Bottle. Blackish pour with a small brown head that recedes to a fine ring and holds. The aroma is strong with dark chocolates, vanilla, and perhaps a whiff of whiskey. The taste has chocolate syrup in the forefront, followed by bit of bourbon and black licorice. The palate is full and oily. Finishes long and sweet. Overall: Decent but too sweet for anything but a one time novelty beer.
