Ein Bockbier der Extraklasse. Die spezielle Malzmischung aus verschiedenen dunklen Malzen gibt diesem Doppelbock seine warme, dunkle Farbe. Mit einer Stammwürze von über 18% reift das Bier gut 3 Monate lang in den Kellern unserer Brauerei. Bierkenner schätzen den ausgeprägt vollmundigen Geschmack mit harmonischer Hopfennote, der von einem sahnigen malzigen Schaum abgerundet wird. Ein Klassiker für die Starkbierzeit.

Nice amber-copper color with tan head that goes down quickly. Aroma is malty, caramel, molasses, quite spicy. Taste is medicinal-herbal, malty, toffee, a bit nutty and stingy. Slightly alcoholic finish, unusual, like a mixture between vineous and bubblegum. Good chewiness. Not your average Doppelbock, but not exactly my cup of tea either.

0,5 l bottle from P&M Getränke, best before 31/8/2015. Crystal clear, reddish amber with a medium-sized, soapy, slowly collapsing, tan head. Heavy, malty aroma of sweet cherries, candy sugar, molasses, strawberries and raspberries. Very sweet taste of raisins, candy sugar, toffee and molasses. Nice! Long, medium bitter finish. Medium to full body, oily and creamy texture, average carbonation. Overall a very nice doppelbock with the necessary sweetness and a nice mouthfeel. The alcohol is hidden very well. Good! By the way, I didn’t even notice that we have Josefi today until I looked it up at Wikipedia.

Bottle from McTapps, many thanks Sabine. Copper color with medium off-white had. Sweet malt, dried fruit, honey in aroma. bready malt, honey, dried fruits, nuts, caramel in taste. Light alcoholic bitterness in finish. Powerful Doppelbock.

Danke an Martin für diese Flasche! Frisch süßlich-malzig. Tolle Malzbonbon-Aromen, frisch und herb, dabei leicht malzig-süßlich. Der Hauptteil ist sehr süffig, nicht zu tief, aber rund, vielleicht etwas süßlich-neutral. Im Nachgeschmack mittellang, herbes Malzbonbon, das aber etwas neutral-wässrig endet. Dabei etwas herb-medizinisch, verbrannter Zucker. Trotzdem lecker!

Thanks to jonas for that one! Bottle looks really good, beer in the glass brownish, small head. Starts strong, fine malty notes, not too roasty. Quite dry background. Modest alcoholic. Finish strong, warming, but also well balanced. A good one!

50cl Bottle via trade, thanks Bierkoning. Clear cognac amber colour, dense off-white head that dissolves. Aroma of sweet bready malts, roosvicee, toffee, alcohol. Flavour is medium sweet, malty, bread, caramel, alcohol, nice hoppy and alcohol bitter finish. Medium-bodied. Decent bock.

Nice deep copper/brown, with pleasant, roasty bitter taste. This came in a mixed Bavarian case from Edeka markt. Normally, I wouldn’t go for a double bock in the summer, but it tastes pretty good.

Aroma is surprisingly light with some berries, sweetish malt, some chocolate and hints of alcohol. Flavour has chocolate, sweetish malt and hints of berries. Some fusel‐like alcohol in the dry finish. Drinkable, the alcohol disturbs here much.
