330ml bottle [as Der Blaue Page]. Opalescent, dark yellow-ish, golden colour with small to average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Sweet-ish, grainy-spicy, pale malty aroma, a touch of straw and honey. Taste is sweet-ish and minimally spicy, starchy, pale malty, mildly bitter, grassy and minimally floral, hoppy counterpart, a touch of honey; lingering, bitter hoppy finish. Dissolved sugar enriched, minimally oily, watery texture, smooth and soft, minimally cloying palate, fine and soft carbonation. Clean, simple and monotonous, acceptable sweetness - OK.

330ml bottle bought from the Offie, Leicester. As ‘Der blaue Page'. Mid- to dark gold, clear with a small white head. Light grainy and honeyed aroma. Sweet taste with an increasing hoppy note toward the finish. Watery body with medium carbonation. Drinkable but pretty dull. The bottle was just out of date but I can’t imagine it’d make that much difference for the style.

Bottle from Against The Grain. Clear deep golden body with a thin white head. Steady carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of peanut shell, straw and white bread. Flavour of honey and tiger bread. Medium body with a slick mouthfeel. Soft fizz. Well balanced and nicely sweet.

Klare goldene Farbe mit weißer Schaumkrone. Malziger, getreidiger Geruch. Geschmacklich malzig, getreidig, heuig, leicht fruchtig, gut eingebundener Alkohol.

330ml bottle as Der Blaue Page. Mitchell’s Wines Sheffield. Crystal clear pale gold. Fine white head is sticky and lasting. Nose has sweet grain to the tune of some toffee notes. Doughy bread. Hop spice. Some peppery, rocket like leafy notes. Taste is similarly sweet with a moderate peppery hop bitterness. Smooth with plenty of body. Even a slight warmth. Fine carbonation. Bittersweet finish. Definitely imagine swilling pints of this and getting badly caught out.

Bottle as Der Blaue Page picked up from Appel Getränkemarkt, Moosburg and consumed at home Sunday 19th December 2021 listening to Dry Cleaning - New Long Leg, smoking chicken outside and cooking Beef Bourgogne inside in the slow cooker. Pours gold, excellent clarity with a white head. Tasty Heller Bock, a little fruity but malt dominates, chewy, clean tasting, dryness at the end, great.

Bottle split at the Autumn Watford tasting, picked up online, 24/09/21. As Der Blau Page. Clear golden with a good sized white head. Nose is sweet malts, grains, breads, straw, biscuit. Taste comprises pale malts, light floral notes, sugars, caramel, straw, grains, cereals, trace of honey. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Ok bock if lacking some complexity.
