0.75 l bottle from 'Het Biermoment', bottled in October 2021. Clear, deep ruby with a medium large, foamy, almost stable, beige head. Sweetish-malty, gently fruity, slightly yeasty aroma of caramel, prunes, raisins, vanilla and some chocolate. Gently sweet, malty, moderately bitter, quite yeasty and moderately fruity taste of caramel, chocolate, clove, raisins, prunes and light vanilla, followed by a medium long, gently bitter, quite yeasty finish. Medium body, fairly effervescent mouthfeel, average to lively carbonation. Simple but pleasant Quad, doesn't really add that much to La Trappe's range.

Definitely heather. Nice honey and a little lime. Leather. Dark brown pour with good head and lacing. Sweet finish. Slick mouth feel. Very well done and nicely balanced. Bottle from Kenny's in Debary.

Mahogany brown colour with thick, creamy head. The regular elements of the La Trappe Quad are dominant with sweet malts and banana esters. There's a little hop dryness but I don't get any of the promised citrus notes. The honey sweetness comes through well and is very complementary.

750ml C&C bottle from BrewDog. it oours clear rich deep browb with a beige cap. The aroma is sweet, loads of dark and dried fruits, some cherry, date, prune, raisin, sultana, fruit cake, toasted brown sugar, plum pudding, fig, cola cubes, candy sugar and whisky. The taste is bitter - sweet, loads of dried fruits, date, prune, raisin, fig, cherry, booze soaked fruit cake, caramel, toffee, toasty brown sugars, whisky soaked oak, light tannin, touch of cacao, burnt toast and some alcohol warmth with a toasty, fruit cakey finish. Medium - fulsome bidy abd moderate+ foamy carbonation. Fun stuff. whisky works well with base beer. Enjoyable.

Bottle. Surprisingly easy drinking for the style (and voltage). Honey is quite obvious adds solid sticky mouthfeel, bit of wood, light smoke, yeast, sweetish. Good.

750 c&c from Bine & Vine. Pours clear, slightly ruddy brown with substantial creamy beige head. Aroma of kandi and dark fruit. Creamy mouthfeel - approach full bodied. Flavor is dark malt of the European type (not roasty/toasty USA) with dark fruit, some citrus, hop that could be floral, and a possible bit of heat. Which could be hop/malt bitter. Wonderful flavor. A little honey on my lips. Delicious.

Pour is a dirty river water brown with a large tan head. Aroma is dates, figs honey and dark candi sugar. Flavor is dark fruit, honey some brown ale malt and alcohol. Not super carbonated but this has a heavy mouthfeel. Sweet but not to the point of being cloying. Nice quad. A little sweet, and little booze but the dark fruity flavors make up for it.
