Das klassische Ale war das Lieblingsgetränk der Londoner Tagelöhner des frühen 18. Jahrhunderts, die Porters genannt wurden. Dieses Arbeiterbier ist ausgewogen und elegant weich. Der Alkoholgehalt beträgt nur 5,2 Prozent. Es hat eine tiefschwarze Farbe mit rubinrotem Glanz und einer cremefarbenen Schaumkrone. Die Weyermann® Version ist eine authentische Interpretation dieses vorindustriellen Ales. Weiche Weyermann® Wiener- und Caramelmalze verleihen einen harmonischen Geschmack, während die englischen und slowenischen Aromahopfen die fruchtigen Kirsch- und Cassis Noten beisteuern. Im Abgang sorgt eine geringe Menge von entspelztem Weyermann® Röstmalz für einen Anflug von dunkler Schokolade.

Bottle from the fan shop in Bamberg and drunk with Nelson. Cola coloured lasting beige head. Immediate chocolate aroma. Chocolate flavour too. Dark chocolate flavour. Like a 65 or 70 % cocoa chocolate flavour. Pretty simple. But the chocolate flavours are excellent. Liked it.

A clear reddish brown beer with a beige head. Aroma of dark roasted malt, some dark fruits, earth. Taste of mild dry roasted malt, some coffee, cocoa powder.

A: hazy black, stable, frothy, beige head.
A: wholemeal bread, toast, cold coffee, iron.
T: sweetish prune, sourish brambleberry, brown bread.
F: soft earthy hops, dried fruits, metallic touch.
P: medium body, slick texture, fizzy carbonation.
Too fizzy & metallic to convey that dry character, too bad.

Almost black with thin head. Nice malt aroma with a touch of aniseed and treacle. Plain, simple taste. Some more aniseed sweetness, although subtle.

Bottle, huge thanks Motelpogo for sharing! Cola body, off-white head. Caramelly cola aroma, creamy, hm, okay. Lean, light taste, lightly fruity, a bit oaky, dark malts, a bit watery but not bad compared to their other beers I guess.
