Amber, slightly dull. Moderate tartness, a bit woody, lots of bugs. This would be a good gueuze base, but as a standalone, hmmm, it’s okay. Definitely wants to be blended.

Tap at the brewery in Brooklyn. 2022 A clear golden orange coloured pour with a a loose white head. Aroma is earthy, thyme, lemon peel, lacto, grass. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, earthy grains, rye, spicy vinous funk, dry lacto. Palate is tangy, drying moderate crisp carbonation.

Brewery draught, 4/28/23. Clear brass. Small, white head. Buttery oak, more buttery oak. Hmm... Ah yes, diacetyl, sadly. Still delicious. Lots of lactic character, tart Brett and a malty well attenuated texture. Shame about the diacetyl but it happens. It will pass.

Keg at the Grimm taproom, Brooklyn, 12/04/23. Listed as 'The Open Work 2022'. Almost clear golden orange with a decent off white covering. Nose is pissy citric shreds, damp straw, hint of apricot, funk, dry rot. Taste comprises tangy stoned fruits, vanilla oak, light herb, damp wood, grains, citric nip, green berry funk, lactic tang. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, drying close with a sharp light acidic edge at the curtain call. Solid.

ABV: 6.0%. Clear medium yellow orange colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, wheat, moderate yeasty, barnyard, leather, funk, oak, grapes - peach. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average to long duration, grapes, leather, barnyard, funky, grapes - peach, oak - barrel. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20211023]
