Malted barley, oats. Sitting somewhere between Northern English and American brown ales in style. Medium-bodied. Toasted nuts and dark caramel balanced by hop bitterness and gentle hop aromas

330ml bottle from Hop Burns and Black. Pours a nice hazy deep brown with a lovely light tan pillowy head that lasts. Nose of toast, nuts, coffee, treacle, chocolate. Medium malt backbone with a lovely dry roast bitterness. Medium body, prickly mouthfeel. Great rendition of the style.

(Draught at Akkurat, Stockholm, 5 May 2024) Dark brown colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, slightly roasted nose with bread, cola, orange peel and toast. Malty taste with notes of chocolate, toast, roasted grain, bread, raisins, orange peel and a balanced citric/roasty bitterness in the finish. Medium body, quite dry. Rich, tasty and well balanced. Very nice.

330ml bottle. Pours dark brown with a frothy beige head lasting the duration. Aroma of chocolatey and nutty/roasty malts. Taste of chocolate, nutty, roast malts, caramel, dark fruits, solid hop bitterness though still in line with the English style. Medium bodied. Excellent example of the style.
