Taste: Dried plums and hints of winter spices dominate, with a silky smooth lingering caramel aftertaste.
Appearance: Pours dark blackish brown like a roasted rye bread with a dark brown head.
Nose: Oven fresh rye bread and jam, hints of cracked black pepper and juniper branches, followed by notes of toffee and burnt sugar. As the glass warms up leather and hints of tobacco pipe smoke join in, with an expressive aroma of oak.

BD 17112021. Blackish brown, light brown fine head. Smells a bit roasty, sweet, bourbon, rye, wood, dark chocolate. Smooth, heavy body, boozy. Taste is loads of barrel, and lots of rye. Lightly sweet, some soft bitterness, loads of barrel. Feels American.

From a 330ml bottle on 14/10/2022. Pours near black with no head. Has a dark and dried fruit and choc nose, with notes of dark fruit, musty cellar and booze. Taste is very sweet up front - dark chocolate, caramel, brown sugar, plum and sultanas, with a strong rye and oak finish, with a nice tangy bitterness. The palate is syrupy, the carbonation soft. This is big, intense, complex and cohesive. These guys consistently do amazing big dark beers. Truly excellent.
