Taste: Dried plums and hints of winter spices dominate, with a silky smooth lingering caramel aftertaste.
Appearance: Pours dark blackish brown like a roasted rye bread with a dark brown head.
Nose: Oven fresh rye bread and jam, hints of cracked black pepper and juniper branches, followed by notes of toffee and burnt sugar. As the glass warms up leather and hints of tobacco pipe smoke join in, with an expressive aroma of oak.

Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color stout with a dark brown foamy head with some retention and some lacing notes. Aroma of black chocolate notes with some woody whiskey and bourbon notes. Taste is also a mix of black chocolate notes with some woody whiskey and bourbon notes with some warming alcohol notes. Body is full with oily texture and good carbonation and warming alcohol notes are perceptible. Nice heavy barrel-aged stout.

Bottle. Pours black with a small head. Arom is complex, rye and bourbon, lots of prunes, caramel, dark malts, chocolate, coffee, lots of rye. Full body. Flavour is sweet, rich and malty. Lots of dark malts, with intense caramel, fudge, chocolate, coffee, rye, spices, molasses. Vanilla, lots of wood and whisky, more rye than bourbon imho but both are there and give this a lovely rich indulgent flavour. Long sweet finish with lots of whisky.

bottle from kihoskh, pours a dark brown, with a small bubbly dark brown head that soon disappears. dark caramelly, hard roasted malty aroma, bitter nuts, whisky or dark rum, wood, faint vanilla. Flavor is quite sweet, boozy, malty, sweet malty, brown sugar, dark caramel, there isn't really any finish, it just sweetens out into the aftertaste, all the flavors come together somwhat confusingly, i would almost dare to guess that the barrelling did too much to the base beer, and sort of over-spiced the whole thing. (I am not sure I have tasted the base beer, but those I have tasted from pohjala has been very good) in the far, far aftertaste i detect a little bit of smoked notes, similar to those in thisted limfjordsporter but much more in the background, could be the toasted rye flakes or use of a little bit of smoked malts. No problem at all, but could be part of my initial confusion, making the dark caramel notes seem weirdly bitter.
