Bottle from Marché Omni with a production date of 01/2013. Pours a hazy amber colour with a creamy-foamy light beige cap, great retention and lots of soapy spotted lace. Also written on front label "amber ale", under "Pale Ale Américaine". Beautiful fruity nose with some plums, raisins, and nuts. Quite malty with good quality malts. Slick and smooth, nice mouthfeel. The taste is good balance between the hoppy dryness and some roasted and caramel malts. This is quite a well-blended amber beer, à-la-American Pale Ale.

Draught at St. Augustine’s, Vancouver
Muddy amber color, with medium sized creamy head. Malt aroma and flavor, almost like the ones you feel during mashing and before fermentation; it also has a medicinal and phenolic touch in the flavor, some fudge/caramel, a moderate nutty touch, and quite strong bitterness with some hop qualities.
Quite weird.

Fancy 750 ml bottle, corked and caged. Pours a bright ruby color with a small white head. A nice fruity caramel nose. The flavor is a light pale with caramel, dust, light oranges, earthy at times, lingers with a bit of bitterness. Produced only 3 months ago, but this tastes old. basically a really malty Pale. Quite good still, just unusual. The information on the label is really awesome and useful. Awesome!

Hoppy nose with discreet citrus and orange notes. Aroma is not sticking out much and I had to dig hard to find some hazel nut. Appearance is golden amber, half clear, head is creamy, thick, long lasting and with nice lacing. Taste: Attack is dry and hoppy. Malted notes are taking over after with hazel nut, cereal and hay. Grain is the main accent for flavors. A good APA; not exceptional but OK. Reminds me country beers like ’’La Chouappe’’ beers.

On tap at Brouhaha, pours a hazy golden orange with a medium white head. Aroma of light biscuity malt and lightly floral hops - very subtle. Flavour is pretty standard for an APA, with some biscuity malt and slight honied notes. Light-bodied and unobtrusive, but not overly refreshing or pleasant. OK.

Drank a small bottle of this while barbecuing up some pork and it was pretty good. There isn’t a hell of a lot going on, but no hop bomb either. Just subtle perfume essence at the aftertaste. Decent lacing, pours amber clear. Small bottle from Peluso.

Bottle, as Américaine. Cloudy amber with a large off white head. Citrus aroma with some peach and pine. Quite sweet with fruity, cereal and light toasted malts, reserved citrus and some pine. Less clean malt side than a US version - not itself a bad thing. Quite bitter finish. No date, but perhaps not the freshest bottle - I’d guess a bit of toppy zing to the citrus is missing. Still pretty good.
