Poured from a 12 oz bottle. Aroma is very roast forward and is accentuated my the whiskey notes. Medium oak notes. Quite a bit of charred oak. Light chocolate and adjunct notes. Hints of alcohol. More cinnamon and peppers than the other adjuncts. Pours black with a medium small, thick, mocha head that exhibits pretty nice retention. No lacing and moderate legs. Flavor has a good moderately strong chocolate note with some medium light roast. Medium light charred oak notes. Moderate sweetness and adjunct notes. More cinnamon than peppers and vanilla. A bit of pepper spice in the finish along with some alcohol. Medium bitterness. Mouthfeel is medium full bodied with medium low carbonation. Low astringency and medium low alcohol warmth. Overall, a nice stout, but I think I like the regular Bomb! better. The Balcones barrels just add too much char that accentuates all the roast notes. I also feel like the cinnamon is stronger in this batch than in some of the regular ones.

Bottle - thanks much to OKBeerFan! Pours opaque black, small dark brown head, creamy and slow to dissipate, nice lacing. Aroma is very rich, cocoa, vanilla, whiskey, a bit of coconut. Flavor is quite sweet and light plus bitter, rich and decadent. Full body, creamy mouthfeel. Peppers some through in the finish as a warming heat.

(On tap @ VilleValla Pub, Linköping, Mar 20 2015) Pours pitch black with a small dark tan head, no lace. Aroma of dark chocolate and roasted cacao, vanilla bean, some black coffee, light chili, softly smoky, wood and whiskey, slight molasses sweetness. A little sweet on the palate with dark chocolate and vanilla, brown sugar malts, whiskey notes, smoky chili builds some heat towards the finish along with cacao nib/coffee bean bitterness. Lightly bitter and lightly spicy aftertaste, lingering cacao and barrel, a little alcohol heat. Full bodied, average carb. Very nice stuff but something about the barrel here does not play quite as well with the base as other Bombs. Really not much of a criticism though, it’s quite good...

Draught. Opaque black liquid with small to medium tan head. Aroma of chocolate, vanilla, light chili, coffee, licorice, bourbon and light wood. Taste is medium sweet and light to medium bitter with notes of chocolate, vanilla, bourbon and raw sugar. Full bodied with medium carbonation. Really good but I like the other renditions I’ve had.

Black color with small dark beige headm Aroma is chili, vanilla, chocolate (better than many bitter chocolates), berries. Taste is again vanilla, chocolate, ginger, chili, berries, with a nice spicy booze kick towards the end. A little carbonation kick still for being barrel aged. Fantastic! Nothing to improve here. I like it more and more with every sip. The on tap price at Erzbierschof was also very nice!

Draught @ BBB. Pours oily pitch black with a small dark mocha head that doesn’t leave much trace on the glass while dissipating. Smell is sweet and malty with roasted malts, caramel, vanilla fudge, brown sugar sweetened dark roast coffee, dark chocolate, charred wood, molasses, chocolate covered raisins, smoked chilli, sweet soy sauce, moist soil and bourbon alcohol. Taste is sweet, bitter, tiny sour and malty with roasted malts, burnt caramel, toffee, vanilla fudge, charcoal, dark roast coffee, thick dark chocolate, roasted coconut, moist soil, minerals and bourbon alcohol. Mouthfeel is soft, creamy, round, roasted astringent, slightly boozy, tiny spicy hot and medium to full bodied. Finish is slightly sweet and bitter with roasted malts, burnt caramel, toffee, vanilla fudge, charred wood, dark roast coffee, dark chocolate, ancho chilli, roasted coconut, moist soil and hints of bourbon alcohol. My favourite bomb so far... Heavy on the thick chocolate and bourbon with a nice ancho element. Nom!
