Pours black into a tulip. Tan head with good retention recedes leaving thin sheets. Dusty milk chocolate and tangy citrus aromas. Soft with pit fruit upfront turning to chocolate syrup and espresso in the lasting bitter finish.

Bottle from Beer Revolution. Pours very dark brown with a slight tan head. Creamy that. Aroma is chocolate with some aromas suggesting aged in wine barrels. Full bodied. Flavor is primarily chocolate with notes of anise and dark fruit. It’s pretty sludgy/earthy - but not really in a brett way. Finishes more like really dark bakers chocolate. Dry, bitter and chocolate!

Dégustée au Mondial de la Bière de Montréal 2012. De couleur brune-noire et opaque. Nez de malt rôti aux notes brûlées, léger de café et de pain grillé avec des notes de fumée de bois et de houblon herbeux. Moyennement ronde en bouche avec un pétillemeent moyen ainsi qu’une texture très légèrement crémeuse. Faibles notes de fumée de bois avec des traces de fruits (petits fruits foncés) lors de l’entrée en bouche auquel se rajoute un goût de malt rôti, un moyen goût de pain grillé et des notes de chocolat noir puis en finale le goût qui ressort en est un moyen de café avec une légère amertume de houblon herbeux. Post-goût moyen, légèrement amer de rôti (faibles notes brûlées), léger de café avec des traces de chocolat.

15/12/2012 on tap @ GEIB. Nera, densa, impenetrabile, schiuma color beige-cappuccino, abbondante e incredibilmente persistente. Al naso è molto pulita, sentori di caffé, cioccolato, luppolo. In bocca è straordinariamente bilanciata, attacco dolciastro, finale caffettoso e luppolato, secco e pulito, discretamente lungo. Corpo medio, carbonazione corretta. Robust porter magnifica!

330 ml bottle. Pours black with medium light tan head. Aromas of sweet dark chocolate and dark ripe fruit. Flavors of dark chocolate, black coffee, and slightly sweet hints of dates or prunes. Dry. Porter or Stout - I don’t know, but very nice.

Bottle. Pours opaque brown-black with a small tan head and nice lacing. Aroma is coffe, dark roasted malt and a touch of vanilla. Flavor is much the same plus dark bread and notes of chocolate. Quite sweet with a light bitter coffee finish. A bit watery on the palate.

Bottle sample at a tasting at kerenmk’s place. Thanks troubles. Black with a bubbly light brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, a bit "green", with coffee and light acidic notes. Bittersweet roasty flavor with some coffee, light acidic notes, chocolate and a dry finish, rather bitter. Medium-bodied. Decent.

A dark brown porter with a thin mocha head. In aroma, chocolate and burned coffee, grassy notes, OK. In mouth, a nice sweet chocolate with coffee, alcohol, nice British hops, very nice. Bottle at Mondiale 2012, June 8 2012.
