Bottle from a Durbuy gift shop - many thanks, Anke! Clear amber, small, foamy, off-white head. Aroma of pear, red & green apple, brioche, plum jam, honey, vanilla, oak, vague clove, sherry. Taste has sweet plum, apple & raisin in a brioche-like, brown-sugary malt body with clove notes. Herbal hops in the finish, lingering dried fruits, touch of vanilla and warming sherry alcohol. Medium body, oily texture, average carbonation. Somewhat boozy, yet overall balanced.

Fles 2023 editie. Oranje kleurig bier met schuim. Smaak is warm en krachtig, bitterzoet met iets van bessen wat druiven en wat grapefruit. Duidelijk één van de betere versies wat mij betreft.

Couleur ambre, col fin blanc-cassé peu tenace dégustée en parallèle avec la version Calvados.
Arôme est plaisant avec d’un bouquet fruité confit rappelant les pruneaux et figues voire de noisettes.
Palais est rond et bien efficace, caractère malté sur du caramel, pils, amertume délicate en fin de bouche le tout rehaussé par le passage en fût de Sherry – léger sucre résiduel avec une bonne note de fruité résiduel avec une fine oxydation. Effervescence aussi plus présente que sur sa consœur au Calvados.

Bottle picked up from an online webshop in Haarlem Netherlands, briefly forgot name, consumed at home Saturday 15th April 2023 listening to J.Macis - Fed up and Feeling Strange, cooking Lamb Keema Saag Balti. Pours hazy amber with a white head. Spicy from the off, Christmas spiced orange, thick mouthfeel, aroma suggests barrel ageing but I would be hard pressed to pick out sherry. Goes well with Salted Pumpkin Seeds. Not boozy, surprisingly easy sipping. Good.
