Saison Houblon undergoes massive dry hopping i.e. addition of hop flowers in the maturation tank. This allows the hop flavours to be extracted, but nottheir bitterness. The North American hop varieties that are used yield powerful citrus and exotic fruit notes on a spicy background. A pre-dinner drink par excellence, sparkling, crisp and fresh, Saison Houblon goes well with fresh goat cheese, falafel, white fish and seafood. 35 IBU. Hops : Columbus, Centennial. Summer version with Swiss raspberries added at secondary fermentation.

Bottle, 75cl. A gusher, producing a brownish off-white head looking like it’s sprinkled with cinnamon. Murky, dark golden body with lots of floaties. The aroma is wonderful, with lots of citrus and pine cones, some maltyness in the back. It’s lighlty sourish on the palate, dry and effervescent. Citrusy, piney hops and some yeast, caramel maltyness too. Overall, a quite decent beer, but it’s completely hopeless to add hops to the bottle, which it seems they’ve done. The aroma is lovely, the appearance just redicilous. 111105

75 cl bottle from Grains D’Orge, Moudon. pours copper, thick white head. aroma, fruity, reminded a lot of a white wine, fermented grapes, light pear nose. flavors, bitter palate with nice saison elements and a lingering enjoyable hop profile that complements the beer very well. Some lemon grass, mild spicy hops mouthfeel, touch of white grapes/ wine with champagne undertones. Finish is a bit dry with some fruit acidity and a very thin touch of malts. Interesting and tasty. 7-3-8-4-15
