On tap at the brewery. Pours slightly cloudy golden with a medium sized white head, good lacing. Dusty malts, grapefruit, pine resin, zesty. Ok, not sure this would be Tasty McDole approved though.

355ml can, Beer Republic advent calendar day 11. Pours light hazed pale yellow with a white cap. Aroma: bitter citrus & pine, west coast styleeeee. Taste: light sweet & moderate bitter, malty, zesty citrus, bitter grapefruit, boozy, big piney bitter finish. Medium body with foamy carbonation, hoppy bitter boozy finish. Tidy old school DIPA, took me back a few years.

#11 Beer Republic advent calendar. Pours cloudy yellow with a fluffy head. Zesty herbal notes, orange, resin honey, booze, spicy hops, overripe tropical fruits. Hoppy zesty bitterness, boozy fruity sweetness. Full to medium bodied, oily texture, lively carbonated, hoppy bitter boozy finish. Good.

Ignore the prior two reviews. Not bad, sufficiently juicy and sweet without growing cloy or overhopped. Big notes of pineapple, peach, lemon drops, and a little dankness, followed by a firm mineral-pine bitterness and decent residual sweetness. On par with Big Little Thing or Stone FML.

So, is this 'tasty thing' going to become 21st's voodoo, like it is for NB? 15 different tasties that practically all feel & taste the same? I'm tired of renaming a brew just because they changed a minor ingredient and want to sell more under a new name. Just asking. OK, I'm thinking this is not going to be too tasty because the bitterness is going to rototill across my taste buds. On the pour, its hazy, but not that hazy. Smell is alarming volatile hop olfactory blast. First taste is thicker viscous mouth coating and warming. Straight up ass hoppy overload. You can tell its almost 9%, it attempts to hide nuttin. Big rude nasty nellie arrogant plowing effects on the palate. Whew. So big, so bad, so nasty. One big kick in the ass that is followed up with a punch in the face. Then there is this elbow to the gut with a simultaneous knee to the balls. Way over the top for a lager over. With the second pour, I think its getting more clear. For all the negative attributes I'm enduring with the brew, at least in the finish, I'm getting a mild sense of euphoria with the ABV content. Probably the only thing I can appreciate about this style. Whew. I'm really not enjoying this. I need to stop ticking IPA and especially impy IPA for ticks, it's just not worth it, except maybe when its less than 2$ like this was, at JR's.
