375ml bottle @ monthly tasting, Chez Sophie, Jan 23. Hazed yellow appearance, good white head. Great depth, good fruity hop notes with mandarin, grapefruit and lemon with a robust west coast bitterness, sappy piney finish.. good stuff.

30th January 2023, Shrewsbury Monthly Gathering at Chez Sophie, only four of us to share the beers. Cheers to whoever brought the 375ml bottle of this. Cloudy yellow body, white head. Pretty bitter in nature, with both a piney and citrusy hop presence in the nose and flavour, found it interesting.

37,5cl Bottle. Shared with Chocolate Joseph and SirAlex. Thanks. Pours hazy golden with a white head. Pine, citrus, wood and caramel. Sweet and piney. Soon a pretty good US Barley wine. Small sips that reminds you of the danger drinking this.

Bottle at home from CW online. Pours hazy orange gold with a huge fluffy white cap. Aroma is citrus zest, piney hop, grapefruit, oak, caramel malt. Taste is grapefruit, lots of oak, piney hop, citrus zest, caramel malt, white grape. Really nice stuff, lots going on leaves a nice dry oak finish.

Bottle. CW online. Looks grand. Opaque deep gold. Beautiful CW foam. Nose has bretty wet wood. Hint of liquorice. Big stink of piny hop. Some floral notes. Taste has a rich sweetness with a hefty hit of woody, leafy, sappy bitterness. Smooth and easy drinking with fine carbonation. Gets dank and a bit aged. Like an imported Founders DIPA that’s been sat shelf turding. Fuck knows. Great beer.

Panda at home, thanks to Fergus from our joint purchase off Tips, 28/01/22. Hazed orange with a good sized just off white covering. Nose is dank strokes, bitter orange, pine resin, hop spice, oak, caramel malts, grapefruit. Taste comprises grapefruit zest, light funky undertones, sticky tropicana, green berry must, pine resin, dank cloak, lychee, hop spice, mellow wooded effect. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close spiked with lightly aggressive hop bitterness and a balanced rising boost. Solid stuff.

30th December 2021
Very hazy orange beer, good size pale cream colour head. Palate is light and semi dry, good fine minerally carbonation. Somewhat thin malts for a dipa, mild creamy sweetness. Bitterish orange hops, fair dose of orange peel, bitterish marmalade. Damp aged wood from the barrel along with a nice touch of vanilla. Bitterish fruity whiskey on the back end. Light finish. Not bad. I do like a BA IPA/DIPA but this one is very West Coast and that style bores me.

Barrel aged IPAs are always a bit weird, but in this case it's just oak and seems to have been dry hopped after that. Both work better, it seems. Fairly oldschool west coast flavours, nicely bitter, pine, citrus, some dankness. Pretty nice!
