Pours black, small tanned, stable layer of foam. Smell is roasty, rather dry, tad ashy, mild chocolate. Taste is full, rather sweet, well-balanced bourbon notes, intense roastyness ( bit plastic, not as in chemical, but a bit too much on the roasted mlts to me ) medium-thick body, medium carbo. Bit of alcohol heat , which might all be solved by amping up the residual sugars ( slightly ) giving the beer more body ( never to much ) and lower carbo. Balanced can be done by hops, not to make the beer too sweet. Pretty solid stout, just not there (yet) to the international standards.

6 October 2018. At Modeste Bierfestival, Antwerp. Cheers to Anke & Elke!
Hazy dark brown with a lasting, small, frothy, beige head; little lacing. Inviting aroma of ripe apple, calvados, mocha, milk chocolate, peach, plum jam, sherry, wood, faint vanilla, burnt caramel. Taste is medium to heavy malty sweet, creamy vanilla with milk chocolate & mocha, balanced by a light roasted bitterness, nutty too, some coffee, a bit herbal. Malty finish, slightly earthy hoppy, lingering caramel, toast, dark fruit & warming whisky alcohol. Medium to full body, creamy texture, soft carbonation. Stoutish Quad, I'd say; I like it!
