Keg at Enid Street. Opaque copper gold. Thick foamy white head. Aroma has tangy citrus and vinous notes. Herbs. Flavourwise it's bitter with a sour edge. Similar to the aroma. Light-medium bodied. Slick..Soft-fizzy carbonation. Long dry somewhat astringent finish. Crisp stuff.

From tap at Kernel Tap at their new premises 24.08.24. Translucent pale golden straw colour. Diminishing white head and lacing. Good and interesting aroma and taste of gooseberries, bitter grapefruit, lemon, lime and sorrel. Lingering citrus bitterness. Crisp mouthfeel.

Bottle from House Of Trembling Madness. Hazy golden body with a thick white head that holds well. Fine carbonation. Aroma of lime chutney, grass and minerals. Flavour of mint, nettles and grapefruit with a crisp, bitter finish. Medium body with a slick texture. Light fizz. The Ernest hop is hopefully one that we’ll be seeing more of.

500ml bottle from HoTM. It pours slightly hazy yellow - blonde with a thick, fluffy white head. The aroma is mellow, nice stone fruit character, apricot jam, peach, nectarine, mango, some spice and bread. The taste is crispy, dry, snappy, spicy upfront, bitterness which lingers, pithy, zesty, bitter citrus peel, some dull stone fruits, apricot, nectarine, grassy, pine needles and floral accents with a lingering spicy and drying finish. Medium body and moderate, fluffy carbonation. Pleasing bitterness but doesn't stand out from plenty of great Kernel pales in my opinion.good nonetheless.

5th and 6th February 2022 Hazy gold beer small, good off white head. Smooth light palate, mildly dry, decent fine carbonation. Modern Kernel malts, profile, thinnish but reasonably sweet. Lively UK hop goodness from the Ernest. Spicy piney intro, something of a bitterish lemon grass edge. Trace of Apricot if you are looking for it. Light pine and a spicy finish. Leaves a spicy bitter linger. Splendid. The second bottle on the 6th offered more obvious stone fruits and a slightly softer lemongrass. These modern UK hops offer so much and are markedly different from New World. I just wish UK brewers would turn to them more. So cheers to Kernel for showcasing this one.

Great to revisit this cracking English hop PA. Nice bitter edge here, touches of pear and apple, crisp pine and a mild hop spice. Tangy lemon grass bitterness on the back end. Lovely stuff.
