Smooth and easy drinking, this bitter pale ale is inspired by the US craft beer boom using four hop varieties, and has a light citrus taste.

Bottle from the Anchor, Cambridge. Amber, mostly clear, with the tiniest bit of off-White head. Loads of lacing. The malty scent is a bit messy. There’s a touch of hop somewhere but I just can’t seem to pin it down. Refreshing sweet taste: the spicy rye and the New World hops make more of an impact here. Clean finish although the residual malty/yeasty gunk reappears in the aftertaste. It ain’t a classic, but it’s as good as many craft ’APAs’ that have been foisted on me in the past.

500 ml bottle, bought in London, shared at local tasting. ABV is 4.2%. Deep golden colour, white head. Pleasant aroma of toffee, vanilla and caramel, only a hint of herbal hops. "Typically British" flavour with toffee notes, the hops are distinct only in the bitter aftertaste.

Nice clear deep golden color with a off white head. Dotted lacing. Ok intensity in the aroma. Medium body and an ok carbonation. Ok balance between sweetness and bitterness. Citric, toffee, fruity and malty flavor.

Bottle from ASDA, Manchester. Clear golden with next to no head. Has a hoppy and dry pale ale character with some fruitiness in both aroma and taste. Easy to drink and feels good in the palate.
