What an odd mix of flavours, nothing I was really expecting from a freeze-distilled imperial stout. Some roastyness, bit of coffee, but also some acidity there, and remarkebly funky. Some wood as well. Weird, but tasty.

23/IX/22 - 75cl bottle @ Borefts Day 1, BB: n/a (2022-1195) Thanks to all for sharing today’s beers!

Cloudy brown to black beer, small creamy brown beige head, little stable, a bit adhesive. Aroma: very intense, good dark roast, lots of alcohol, dried fruits, grains, malty, decent! MF: ok carbon, medium to full body. Taste: sourish, weird, oxidized, very roasted, super bitter, cocoa powder, smoky, a bit of peat, dry. Aftertaste: sourish, very intense, lots of alcohol, coffee grit, dry, not a big fan.

Tap. Black color with beige head. Aroma is intense chocolate, roasted malts. Taste has a bit of a tart edge, chocolate, thick, not even as much booze as expected in the back, but quite warming nonetheless. Oily mouthfeel, low carbonation. Strong!

Tap, Ghetto Something. Pitch black, sizeable coffee coloured head, pretty lasting and creamy. Lovely cocoa nose, lots of black currant, slightly roasted, slight wood. Medium sweet start, quite berry-like soury, roasted. Syrupy, thick, full and silky. Lasting gently roasted aftertaste. Nice one.

On tap @ Ghetto Something. Aroma of roasted malt, leather, chocolate, mould and dried plums. Pours pitch black color with thin creamy light brown head and nice lacing. Tastes sweet and rich roasted malty and umami with chocolate, caramel, dried fruity acidity and leathery undertones. Full body, thick texture and average carbonation in palate. Real goodnight beer…

Bottle picked up from Craftbeer webshop Parchim and consumed at home Saturday 5th February 2022 listening to Craig Charles Funk and Soul Show on 6 Music and having a Chilli con Carne 'Off' against Loz (it was a draw) we also had a nice Zoom chat with Scott and Mandy. Pours shark eye black with a reasonable sized head that soon was consumed by the inky blackness below. Big maltiness, roasty, bitter cocoa and even a slight tartness comes off the aroma. In the mouth this is intense, with that first super strong coffee of the morning touch, then there is a bitterness with cocoa and plum skins offering up that tartness I picked up from the aroma. Sweet, chocolate a little liquorice but tangy, with a thick mouthfeel, fruity touches ensures a level of interest throughout . I like this, I fell asleep laid on the floor still listening to the radio, then Loz woke me up I finished this off and headed to bed.

0.33 l bottle from 'Craftbeershop.com'. Pitch black with a thin, frothy, almost stable, dark (!) brown head. Intensely sweetish-malty, gently roasty and slightly fruity aroma of dark chocolate, espresso, some prunes and a touch of caramel. Quite sweet, malty, gently roasty and fairly fruity taste of espresso, dark chocolate, lots of prunes and raisins, some caramel and a touch of licorice, followed by a medium long, gently roasty-bitter, moderately earthy, just a little boozy. Full body, smooth and slightly oily mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Lovely Imperial Stout, hardly boozy and incredibly fruity, very saturating. Tasty night cap!
