Flanders Red is an acidic, sour ale with an initial impression of tart cherries and sour candy that dissipates into a complex palate displaying both a sharp lactic sourness with a backbone of caramel and biscuit malt profiles and minimal hop character. The dry, wine-like finish accentuates the complex malt profile and bright fruit notes showcased in this brilliant red colored hybrid of a modern Flanders and German-style sour.

Can with December 24th 2018 stamped on the bottom.
Looks to be a clear mahogany with a massive head of foam, sheets of lacing.
Loads of tart not sour cherries in the smell. Biscuit malt compliments. Slightly acetic aroma but more of a vinous character.
Vinous flavour rocks. Biscuit malt is a little more hidden than in the smell. Cherries are tart but there's a certain sweetness to them; could be the malt influence. Whatever, this is delicious.
Basically light bodied with gentle carbonation..until the finish where it gets a bit spritzy.
Super good. Thanks Jacob for the can!

Sample at SBWF 2018. Hazy dark red with a small head. Aroma of funk, lemon, berries and light wood. The same in the taste. Fresh and with a rather dry finish.

Can @ sbwf 2018. Poured amber, clear, light head. Funky sour, wood and tartness. Tart flavors with wet wood, berries. Dry finish. The sweetness in between here disturbs me.

Canned at Stockholm Beer Festival. Clear copper colour, small head. Tart lemony nose. Citric with light body and clean mouthfeel. Lactic and citric. No trace of wood, just sharp and simplistic.

Can, very nice looking beer. Looks like a rodenbach, tastes like a rodie and even smells like a rodie! Nice job on this one, a very tasty example of a domestic made sour brown beer just like the old country. I need to get me a case of this yummy stuff. Oh my, so good! So friendly, so easy and so quick it was down the hatch. Quite good overall beer tasting experience. Finish is very satisfying. This is the best beer I've had since Hi-Wire Gose @ 4.2 on 1/19/2018. NICE

Smell is fruity, oak, tart, bit dry. 'T is full, dry tart, oak, mild sweetness. Dry ending. Pretty decent. More so than the current score makes you think.

355ml can takeout from Tilt, Birmingham. Drunk in the comfort of my own home. Pours an encouraging reddish amber, generally clear, small off-white ring atop. Aroma is lightly acetic, red wine, berries. Taste presents a nice slow-burning acetic sourness with a nice berry sweetness, some blackcurrants, cherries, moderately tart, a little too lactic and sticky, but I don't mind the sweet berry notes if a little too sweet. ok.

can, old review - Pours a deep red and smells mainly of tart cherries. The flavor has sweet malt and tart cherries, minimal hops, and some acid. I found it easy to drink and enjoyable. I see a fair number of reviews here complaining about vinegar, which I didn't notice in mine. Maybe some batches came out better than others.

Can from Craft Brewed. Lots of oaky, wood and cherry in the nose, straight vinegar right out of the barrel. Acidic to the point of being like vomit and cherries. Complete lack of balance. Everything that is wrong with American breweries attempting to pass failed batches off as something intended. Straight drain pour. Absolutely the worst rendition of a Flemish ale I have tried and one of the worst beers I have had. Some styles should be left to the Belgians.

Can. Dark brown, muddy, with a low head. Big chili pepper nose, cherry, caramel, vinegar. Vegetal and sour, cherries and chocolate. Something went wrong with this one.
