Grand Cru started out as The Sultan. When we made this beer last year I filled 8 old Pinot Noir barrels and more or less forgot about it. To further enhance the funky character, I blended it with 2 barrels of a Flanders Red kinda thing, that has also been fermenting funky for about 18 months.

Almost opaque dark red - amber beer, tidy pale tan head. Palate is a little soft, mild fine carbonation. Light Flemish red sourness. Little caramel, well buried. Touches of cherry and dark fruits. Whisper of spice. Smooth finish. Pretty tasty and drinkable.

375cl bottle @ Geers. Thanks for the shop for warning the buyer about the gusher. Indeed, big gusher on this one, and a rather sloppy job at 8Wired especially for how much this one was going for. I guess my drain enjoyed about 3€ worth of wasted beer.

Bottle @ skortila. Brown - dark reddish colour, small off-white head. Nose is slightly sour, fruity, red wine notes. Flavour is malty, slightly sweet, some red wine sourness and wood. Tannines well noticable, which is nice. Slightly alcoholic. Good sipper.
