Bottle from Beerdome. Aroma is roasted malt with wood, chocolate, toasted coconut, more cocoa, and a hint of coffee. Flavour is medium sweet with a mild bitterness. Body is above medium, which could be a bit more full, but that's the only 'flaw' here. Very good, love the wood.

Still exists. Smell- weak malt, caramel, faint roast. Somewhat nice. Foam- thin-ish malty, weak roast, weak caramel, weak alcohol. The head is small, and medium dark in color. Appearance- brewer bottle cap, wax sealed, simple label. Black in color. From - tulip Taste - weak malt, caramel, sweetness, some alcohol. Sweet, bit boozy, reminds faintly of barely wine. Overall, it is good, but strong.

Nice when warmed up, super classical base. Nice little spice on top, very good, probably better when a bit younger too. Sterk ams

Black with a creamy, beige head. Aroma full of licorice and Christmas spices, particularly nutmeg. Pleasant. Taste is moderate sweet the whole way through. Lingering licorice. Simple and pleasant, but fairly monotone and uninteresting for a beer of this caliber. Medium-bodied, faintly watery texture, mild carbonation, smooth. Ok.

On tap at Garden Path - Bellingham, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma is rich, with lots of roasted malt, some vanilla, dark sugars, and plenty of that wood. Flavour is remarkably rich, with complex-as-hell dark dried fruits, lots of liqueur-soaked wood, and dark sugars that seem largely attenuated out. Rich, complex, and wonderfully constructed. A thing of beauty.
