On tap at Garden Path - Bellingham, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma is rich, with lots of roasted malt, some vanilla, dark sugars, and plenty of that wood. Flavour is remarkably rich, with complex-as-hell dark dried fruits, lots of liqueur-soaked wood, and dark sugars that seem largely attenuated out. Rich, complex, and wonderfully constructed. A thing of beauty.

Bottle 2022 version. aroma is slightly sweet fruty, then comes lots of roasted malts then some weirder notes where I first found glue but now I can't.What it might resemble is salt water and perhaps soap. They are faint, but they are there.. complex alright.. flavor is roasted malts, tons of flavor presumably from the liqeur, i think that was what I found as sweet fruity in the aroma, the end is woody and roasted malty with coffee like notes also.the far end is well bitter in a cofffee hard roasted malty way. Starts out sweet and slightly salty, ends deliciously roasted malty bitter with wood and coffee. A little bit weird, too sweet in the beginning but ends very well.

Baltic porters from pohjala are always a treat. Pours black with very little head. Aroma is prune, fudge, date, fig, cinnamon, chocolate. Medium to full body. Flavour is malty and sweet, light to medium bitterness and malt intensity that counterbalance the sweetness. Lots of dark malt flavours going on here, especially fruit and berry notes like date, prune, fig, molasses, light coffee notes and quite some chocolate. I don't really taste much of the wood it was aged on, some wood, vanilla, cinnamon in the finish, but it's not prominent at all. But a very good Baltic porter, balanced, sweet, drinkable, delicious.

25/3/2023. Bottle from Hopsters, Ipswich. Shared at SBGP1. Pours black with a small frothy beige head. Aroma of dark chocolate, coconut, nut, roasted malt, woody edge. Medium sweetness, moderate bitterness. Medium body, oily, soft carbonation. Enjoyed this.

Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color porter with a dark brown foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of nice black chocolate malt notes with some faint bitter roasted malt notes. Taste is also dominated by rich black chocolate notes with some faint bitter roasted malt and smooth finish. Body is full with a nice creamy texture and good carbonation with no apparent alcohol. Welle executed baltic porter with wood aged notes somewhat discreet.

O:8.44 V:2.2 G:8.31 C:4.5 G:15.3 T:38.75

Near opaque dark brown beer, small tan head. Smooth palate, pretty light and with a decent fine crispness. Crisp dark malts, some dark chocolate and something that tastes a lot like Tonka. Thin malt cream. Brief but pleasing ripe fruits in the mid, some cherry. The distinctive Palo Santo wood brings up the back end with that slightly spicy aromatic vibe that flirts with perfumey. Light crisp finish. Nice job.
