Bottle dredged from my cellar storage before I get to soldering the turret board wires of the latest amp (tomorrow!). Dark brown, small head, nose of rum in the air from popping the bottle. Sweet cane, molasses and candied plums, great nose. So smooth, very refined flavor with very well integrated flavors of rum, vanilla, and brown sugar. It has that rich je-ne-sais-quoi that I really love. Maybe the best Higgins I've had. D&mn did this age well!
Smooth, slightly roasty and woody with some stingy rum notes, hints of green apples, pine and citrus. A bit weird and slightly unbalanced.

Intensiver, dunkel hopfiger Beginn. 10/11/9/11/9/11

Flascherl (Danke, Jonas!) : Deep, deep amber coloured, presumably hazy, shy ruby sheen, small and stable off-white foamy layer, moderate to solid sweet-bitter aroma of wood, roasted malt, vanilla and dried raisins, herbal bitterness well detectable underneath, soft and full bodied; lingering sweet-bitter fruity and toasty finish with returning aromas of wanilla and vood. A great pleasure...

Bottle. Deep brown color with ruby highlight. Aroma is vanilla, wood, mild roast and grassiness. Taste is the same, very nicely integrated barrel, great balance. Oily mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Very nice, Higgins really knows how to nail this style.

Bottle courtesy of Dave Ratebeer München tasting group, cheers mate. Consumed at home Thursday 13th January 2022 listening Marc Riley on 6Music with just had Goulash with Rice. Pours dirty dark brown with an off white head. Despite being a barrel version that I actually don't ordinarily like this is very good, the typical BIPA hallmarks are all there, nice roastiness, citrus, good bitterness.

Bottle. Hazy dark red to brown. Fairly aromatic hop perfume, light vanilla, wood and rum note. Medium to full mellow body. Dry wood and rum spiciness, fresh chocolate and roast notes, light molassis sweetness, almonds, flowery and light herbal hops. Very nice balance between the aged and the fresh components, lovely!
