Cryo Simcoe IPA

This single-hop-forward IPA packs a huge citrus punch while remaining magically smooth.

It's our first IPA using the newly developed cryo hop powder, a concentrated lupulin of wholeleaf hops containing resins and aromatic oils. It's designed to provide intense hop flavour and aroma without any of the astringent flavours or vegetative material. We think you're gonna really like it.

Poured from 473mL can (pkg 09 Dec 2024). Hazy orange gold with off white head. Bland wheaty crystal malt with muted pithy citrus hops and lupulin powder with feint hint of resin on the backend. Meh.

473 ml can. Pours a thick turbid dark amber with moderate head. Aromas of pithy orange, dry spicy melons and wheaty malts. Flavors follow same with some additional Lupulin powder and wood. It’s a poorly labeled and not very good Hazy. Though I should have take warning with the subtitle Juicy IPA on the can.

Can from the lcbo. Hazy orange pour, with a medium off white head. Aroma is incredibly fruity, big notes of stone fruit, citrus zest, especially orange. Mouth feel and carb are spot on. Medium bitterness, tropical fruit, stone fruit, not overpowering. Nice beer.

Chalky hop dust, suntan lotion and green onion--not a great mix. Pours hazy orange with pretty good head. Sourish kind of hop tang finish. Can.

Taste is mildly sweet malts, citrus hops, a little pine and resin too. Finishes with a mild orange pith and hops bitterness. Decent.

473ml can. Pours a hazy gold orange with a medium, foamy, long lasting, white head that leaves thick, soapy curtains of lace. Sweet fruity aroma of pale malt, orange, peach, passionfruit and piney hops. Sweet fruity flavour of pale malt, orange zest, apricot, mango and pine resin in a dry, bitter finish. Medium body with a syrupy texture and average to soft carbonation. Juicy and enjoyable.

Hazy golden-orange colour with a warm frothy cap, good stay and leaving some foamy streaks of lacing. Tiny particles through the brew, looking like spices. Orange juices and zest with some grassiness in the nose. Notes of pineapples. The taste shows the juiciness with some decent dryness in the finish from the citrus peel. Hints of spiciness. An easy-going juicy IPA.
