Imperial Stout brewed with Molasses and with Pecan Extract added
A few times in the history of craft beer a highly praised beer rises beyond mortal stardom into a higher godly league. Usually the recipe to make such heavenly drops is thick fudge-like body, pitch black color, amazingly overwhelming aromas of chocolate, coffee, dark fruits, molasses, pecan extract and obviously only made in limited amounts. People – this is the taste of rare!

Canette 473ml.

One pint can. Pours black with moderate tan head. Aromas of sweet molasses, dark caramel, vanilla, and soft roasted malts. Flavors of dark molasses, espresso, creamy vanilla, chocolate pecans and bitter roasted malts. Sweet and bitter with the latter in the finish. Good stuff.

Shared with Višnja 666 and Pilot Goran, thanks! Black, minimal brown head. What's the deal with this pecan extract? Chocolate, peanut, fruity, roasty. Sweet, candy, good balance, not overwhelming with extract, roasty background. Seems fake. Drinkable for 12%, medium body, not as rich. Oh well.

At a tasting, thanks, the most opaque black color, smallish creamy dark brown head, aroma of chocolate, toaste bread and nuts, dominant malty flavor with lots of bittersweet chocolate with lots of soy and ummami coming through, quite sweet, a bit to heavy and one dimensional but still nice.

Can shared at CBC in London - cheers to Dave the Rave. Pours oily black-brown with a foamy tan head. Good and meaty dark malts abound, light ash, charcoal, dark chocolate. Full bodied, chewy, with fine carbonation. Warming finish, lots more sweet dark malts. Fun, pretty solid.
