Old rating from 02-07-16 - A gift from a friend who visited the Caribbean. 250ml bottle. Named XXtra, but I guess this is one & the same. It pours a very dark brown near black colour with a beige head. Aromas of dark fruits, dark chocolate, nuts & sweet roasted malt. Tastes of dark fruits, chocolate, burnt coffee, nutty caramel, tar, sweet malt & alcohol.

Bottle. Best beer I had will in Jamaica. Pleasant fruity aroma. Notes of caramel in the taste, some slight rum cake. Deep brown colr. Light head that was tan in color.

Very sweet, with lots of jammy dark fruit notes interspersed between chocolate and caramel. Alcohol is hidden, but an utter lack of hops on the back end offers no balance to the sweetness. Pass.
From backlog. Bottle, from Total Wine, Brentwood, Tn. Straight from The Bottle. Roasted malts, coffee, herbs, Chocolate, some sweetness, some bitterness, alcohol sting.
Weird shit, megazoet en alcoholisch als een euro strong met dit abv. #jamaica thanks Gus H.

9.6 oz. bottle from The Mansion. Pitch black pour with a small beige head and decent retention. Surprisingly good lacing. Paint thinner and tar aroma. Not a good sign. Flavors of candied molasses and booze. Good news: It tastes better than it smells, and the 10% ABV is more hidden than I expected. Bad news: Thin, watery body, and a very medicinal taste. Imperial and foreign stout should not be combined. Not a fan.

Smaller bottle. A nose of some chocolate. Big and black. Taste is at first fairly mild considering the ABV. Yes, there is slight volatile kick but it's much more drinkable compared to many 10% domestic varieties. Lighter thin body, nothing viscous about this alky bomb. Burnt darker chocolate feel, alky starts to become much more volatile in the middle. I think I'm even getting a slight warming sensation. Finishes with an alky kick and I think I'm getting dizzy! Reminds me quite a bit of lion stout for some reason. Probably should be in the foreign or extra stout style. Quite rude in the end, whew.

Bottle, 250 ml, courtesy of kajser27. Shared with him and MiroB. Dark brown with tan head. Malty, some chocolate, very empty and thin, specially for abv.
