Inspirations for our beers come from everywhere. Sometimes it’s like the universe is telling us there needs to be a beer. It sounds pretentious and, in a way, it is… But with the release of this Omnipollo® German style pilsner we are in the center of a vortex of incidences telling us that all we want to drink is a truly well-crafted pilsner.
My own pilsner journey started long ago, and pilsner is still my favorite style of beer, but it totally seems like the right time to celebrate this style. The signs are there. Like when your favorite rapper doesn’t enjoy the IPA you had planned to brew in his honor, saying “none of that fruity stuff”. Or the fact that for the last couple of years, all brewers at festivals will not be found drinking the latest hype brew, but instead gathering at the tap of whoever brought a classic pilsner.
A pils is sort of like your favorite t-shirt, you wear it often, but it is never a loud statement. So we raise our (pilsner) glass to you, and hope you will enjoy Devins German style pilsner and the rest of our pilsner journey. Be curious, be classic.

Can from Beerdome. Grassy and grainy aroma with hay, soft citrussy notes, biscuity malt. Flavour is light sweet and moderate bitter with a dry finish. Body is medium. Surprisingly clean Pilsener from Omnipollo, no excesses, just tasty grain and grassy hops. Solid!

Draught@Omnipollos Hatt, Stockholm. Pale yellowish golden colour with a small white head. Aroma is grainy, some rubber as well as mild herbal and dusty tones. Flavur is grainy some mild herbs and thats about it. Very macrolagerish with not that much flavour to it.

(Draught at Omnipollos Hatt, Stockholm, 15 Aug 2020) Golden colour with frothy, white head. Malty, slightly hoppy nose with bread, cereal, grass and a touch of citrus. Malty, hoppy taste with notes of bread, grain, grass, citrus and a fresh herbal bitterness. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Tasty and refreshing. Quite nice.

Can, Že v redu, Primož. Quite hazy yellow pale, large foamy white head, quite lasting. Grassy nose with some quite dusty character. Quite bittery and very grassy. Lasting aftertaste. Good pils, lots of character.

Interesting naming concept on this $3 omnipoolo can from vintage. Cloudy pale. Taste is stronger uncivilized pilz rudeness at first. Medium domestic kick in the face. Now I see this kickin beer is from the old country? Really interesting. It feels domestic, with all that american unpleasantness, but this it aint. Some dull citrus shows up in the middle on both the budz and the nose, yes mild olfactory of citrus, maybe lemon. A little flowery on the palate in the end. Perfume begins to manifest itself on the finish. Yes, flowery finish. Quite a unique evolution of beer experiences during the session. There, the swede thang I think - or wait? Is it belgian? Just asking.

Crisp, clear golden coloured body with a large, super soapy, just off-white head about three centimetres tall. Aroma of dry grass, hay, a touch of bread, yeast, alcohol and even some light citrus comes through, but all fairly mild. Light-bodied; Pungent malt notes dominate at first with biscuits and grain showing through, then some grass and hay flavours followed by a touch of very light hops (German in nature) and some very subdued sugars. Aftertaste is clean with the grass and hay flavours dominating the dry tastes then really showcasing the malt qualities then the light alcohol and yeast astringency at the very end are noticeable. Overall, a fairly nice beer - robust and direct, yet smooth, to the style and still elegant, while being very easy-to-drink. Good to sample a classic style, that is still brewed int he 'Old World' that is good and enjoyable...although a bit too expensive compared to U.S. counterparts, this was nice to try! I sampled this 33 cL can purchased from Liqour Outlet in Boonton, New Jersey on 23-June-2019 for US$3,99 sampled at home in Washington on 23-August-2019.
