Imperial Stout with Chocolate and Hazelnut Coffee Aged in Oak Bourbon Barrels
The perfectly balanced and decadent drinking experience of KBS meets the classic taste of hazelnut. Taking this bourbon barrel-aged stout to a new level, KBS Hazelnut allows the existing premium coffee and chocolate notes to soar to new heights when accented by the nutty sweetness of hazelnut.

Sweet and roasted malty with lots of sweet chocolate, some toffee and caramel sweetness, hazelnut is there but nicely balanced (unlike many others with this addition) full bodied, getting the bourbon washing in to the sweet malty hazelnut accented close.

22 October 2022. Bottle from H-E-B, Bastrop, TX. Bottled: 2/2/2022.
Cloudy black, big, frothy, beige head. Aroma of hazelnut paste, peanut butter, chestnut, fondant, vanilla, mocha, toasted brown bread. Taste has sweet milk & dark chocolate in a malt body of hazelnut, peanut & toast, surrounded by bitter coffee roast & some cream. Earthy hoppy finish, slightly peppery, lingering toasted nuts and gently warming bourbon alcohol. Full body, creamy texture, soft carbonation. Definitely delivers on the hazelnut aspect but feels less complex than the regular version.

20/VII/22 - on tap @ post-Dylan & Aminaβs wedding drink @ Beerlovers Bar (Antwerp), BB: n/a (2022-900)
Clear dark brown beer, small creamy beige head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: nice, lots and lots of hazelnut all right! Dry, a bit earthy, dark roast, some dark chocolate, gentle sweet impression, good stuff! MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: a bit sweet, some caramel, gentle bitterness, lots and lots of hazelnuts indeed, dry, good stuff! Aftertaste: dry again (is that because of the nuts?), roasted, bitter finish, good one!

Pours black, small fairly light head. Scent is dry, roasted coffee, fairly intense. Roasted hazelnut clearly shows. Taste is full, very dry and intense roast. Coffee forward. Clear on the hazelnut, but dry, bitter and roasty rather than pastry-style sweet. Perhaps it's just me being addicted to sweetness by drinking all those pastry's, but to me this could use a bit more residual sugar.

2022 vintage bottle from Livonia Liquor. Pours a deep brown to black with a finger of beige head that lingers. Toasted hazelnut aromas with baker's chocolate, coffee and nutella as it warms. Palate is similar with nice chocolate, coffee and hazelnuts to round out the edges. Balanced finish, with barrel character feeling muted.
