Farewell Jack bottleshare at Craft Clerkenwell. Thanks to Paul and Bill. Lightly hazy pale gold beer, no head. Palate is light, dry and fairly crisp. Mild lemony sourness. Modest floralness. White wine tang. Whisper of orange. The tartness increases a little on the light dry finish. Not bad.

Bottle thanks to Bill, shared at Craft Clerko. It pours cloudy golden-yellow with a small white head. The nose is dirty, funky, farmhouse, yet juicy, stewed orange, vanilla, coconut milk, creamy, tea leaf and fruit crumble. The taste is crisp, tart, funky, juicy, doughy malts, farmhouse loaf, stewed orange, Irn Bru, mild acidity, sherbet, apple pie and pear crumble. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Nice depth and drinkability. Good fruit pie character going on. It’s a yes from me.

Boutielle 375ml, Bottled 02/2014. Brett, brett, brett, o’ the agony now that every one uses it yet this one does an ok job at using the house strain.

375mL bottle, sent from mista (thanks a lot, Geoff), pours a cloudy gold-tinted blonde with a small white head. Nose brings out loads of complex brett, considerable woody oakiness, and some citrusy tartness. Flavour is every bit as complex, with loads of complex funky brett notes dominating upfront, with secondary notes of oak and light-to-medium tartness. The brett sure shines here. Exemplary complexity here. Wonderful stuff.

Nice aroma with quite a bit of stone and tropical fruit, especially apricot, peach and pineapple. Medium light oak notes with hints of tannins. Hints of citrus and acidity. Pours a pale, cloudy, yellow, hay color with a small white head that recedes to the edges where it lingers. Light lacing and faint legs. Flavor is very nice with a light citrus and a good amount of tropical and stone fruit notes. Light oak notes and light bitterness. A bit of a mineral character. Mouthfeel is medium light bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a very nice, delicate yet complex beer. Well balanced and easy drinking. Very enjoyable yeast character.

2014 Cellar Reserve. A pale yellow gold.. Cloudy and dull. Smallish white head, which fades pretty quickly. The aroma is juicy and sweet with nectarines, peaches and apricots. Wonderfully fruity and a bit floral. Mild tangerine juice, some strawberries, a slice of lime. Light cotton candy malt sweetness in the background. The taste is medium sour. Tart berries with more light stone fruit. Lemony pucker. Refreshing. Light and creamy. Very easy to drink. The sweet fruitiness is really drawing me in, and I’m getting through this bottle quickly. Really nice sour. Lively, tart and deliciously fruity.

Bottle @ the rake dungeon from this year’s CS Reserve Society. Pours a somewhat cloudy / hazy dull yellow appearance with a thin cream colored head. The aroma is pretty intense and inviting - nectarines, peaches, apricots, pears, fruit cocktail, and light oak. Nice body. Not overly tart but still packing a bit of a punch. Tastes of pears, peaches, and pineapples. Quenching, refreshing, and delicious. Super easy to drink. One of my favorite CS releases to date.
