12 oz can. Aroma of green apple, acid, mild Funk. Flavor follows with a bone dry texture. Certainly drinkable. I’m not very inspired by this though. Not much else to really report here.

Grafton Street draught, 2/7/26.
Nose has more than just basic apple sugar and acid. Not a ton more but there is a touch of funk/sweat. Vanilla and lactic notes balancing with a bit more sugar than expected.
Sweet at first but drying out with light hay and wild notes. But certainly very restrained they are and mostly giving way to contemporary, sweet, juicy, domesticated yeast character. But not too sweet. Off-dry, I guess. Like the others Ive had from Shacksbury, I'm not excited by it but I'll keep giving them another chance when the opportunity arises.

From a $2 can. Perfectly clear pale. Large carbonation bubbles and no head. Nice clean apple cider nose with a mild bouquet of vinegar. First taste is quite pleasing, its rather dry. I like this dryness for a change since so many domestic ciders are sugar bombs. Good level of carbonation too. Easy fundamental fermented apple flavor with no side effects. Everything seems positive about this brew. Maybe a tad of tartness but not what the nose would indicate. Probably one of the better made real domestic ciders I've had in a while. Reminds me of ciders of the france. Yes, maybe it could be a little dryer, but hey this stuff is pretty darn good. I'm not worried about any unfermented sugars here. Even keel middle. Cannot detect any turn turtle or over balance in the finish. Ends with a twist of apple peel.

355ml can from Old Shoe Bar, Sheffield. As Classic Dry Cider 5.2%. Clear golden colour, some short-lived bubbles on top and aroma of apple, musty. Taste is tangy, apple, some flesh, fruity, oak & vanilla hint, slightly tart, and with mellow acidity. Medium bodied, light carbonation, dry finish. Quite drinkable.

From Shacksbury. 6.5%. NB goblet. Clear, Miller Time. Minerally, dry yeast, faintly macerated/browned apple scent. All very mild. Taste is bittersharp, slightly carmelized, light oxidation, glue, salt, aspirin. Thin, juicy turning parched. Crispy, but okay carbonation is very fleeting. A little boozy or just doesn't hide it well. A bit basic & English inspired. Don't think this is old. The cardboard & glue note is sticking with me. Is that the lightly barrel aged?
