From Beer Drop. Enjoy by November 18th 2022.

Pours a clear dark amber with a short lived head of foam, close to no lacing.

Smells of sweet and bready malt, hint of fruitiness, no discernable bitterness.

Taste is very bready, malty on the sweet side, little to no bitterness.

Mouthfeel is okay until the finish where it gets very thin.

Average example of the style, if that.

1 liter draft at Krause's Biergarten + Café, New Braunfels, TX. Beautiful clear bronze color with a small off white head and excellent retention. Good lacing. Smooth, clean, malty, and lightly sweet. Super easy to drink. Maybe it's the location and the weather, but this is a great Oktoberfest beer!

Keg at the brewery. It pours clear amber with a small white head. The aroma is soft, sweet, spicy, ginger, cereal, toasted grain, candy, toffee and a touch of bubblegum. The taste is dry, bitter, toasted grain, grassy, brown bread, dull caramel, cereal and light spice with a dry finish. Light - medium body and fine carbonation. I wouldn’t call this a typical example of the style, but it’s a decent enough whatever it is.

Sample at Anvil Bar & Refuge. The beer is a clear dark orange-amber color with a thin off-white head that evaporates quickly. Spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma of toasted malt and mild hops. Light-bodied with flavors of grainy malt, caramel and grassy hops. The finish is sweet with a short malty aftertaste. Slightly above average overall.

On tap at The Hay Merchant. Pours a clear amber with medium off white head that diminishes quickly. The aroma is a bready malt, caramel, and toast. Medium mouthfeel with a sweet caramel malt and raisin with sweet finish. A good marzen from Karbach.
