Gnommegang - Belgian-Style Blonde Ale
A little magic and a lot of mischief. This time the gnomes brought more than just yeast from their Belgian farmstead Brasserie d'Achouffe! While Coop and the gnomes were spicing things up at the brewery, our brewers were carefully fermenting signature, fruity, spicy Chouffe yeast to create the flavorful unique blonde ale we all love! You’ll enjoy the smooth drinkability, fruity aromas and flavors, and warming finish.

16 oz can. Aromatic Belgian malt nose right in the pour. Deep brassy color under an orange-tinged head. More Belgian brewing spices as I bring the glass to my nose. Fine stylistic taste, with coriander. Yeasty taste in there, too. Great tasting beer.

16 ounce can from Tavour. Bright, orange gold color. Frothy beige head. Earthy, yeasty fruit aroma. Tangy malt flavor hints at citrus and dried apricots. Warming alcohol in middle. Funky, bittersweet notes on backend include a dose of resiny, piney hops. Delicious!

Can from Livonia Liquor. Pours a clear orange gold color with a huge, rocky head of white foam that lingers. Nice lacing down the glass. Big fruit-forward nose with peach, citrus and clove aromas. More of the same on the palate with lots of clove. Boozy on the finish with classic d'Achouffe yeast notes. Enjoyable.

Bottle from Ericandersnavy, thanks! Pale golden color. Peach in the aroma. Full bodied. Malty flavor with peach, alcoholic and grassy. Dried tropical fruit. Deceptively drinkable and pleasant strong ale.

Bottle - light amber with a slight haze - creamy mouthfeel - fairly sweet, with notes of rock candy, pepper, melon, plum - moderate bitterness and some complex earthy funk in the back - peppery phenols get a little strong - mild gum esters - pretty good.

Bottle: Poured a golden with a fluffy white head. Aroma is light. Taste was aloe, soapy, yeasty, very potent. Not for my taste buds.

12oz bottle into a La Chouffe stemmed tulip glass (just to make it feel at home): 13th Jan 2018 at my daughters in California. Cloudy dull orange body, white foam blanket on top, carbonation trails can be clearly seen rising through the misty brew replenishing the head from below. Yeasty, fruity nose, taste also yeasty and fruity, semi-sweet maltiness balances the hop mini-bitterness and fruit notes, good alcoholic bite to each fruity sip. Dangerously drinkable. Best beer of 2018 so far (yes, I know it's only the 13th Jan, but this is seriously good).
