Bottle at home in London. Gushes slowly upon opening. Pours black-brown with a creamy beige head. The nose has mellow roast, chocolate, light coffee, dark fruits, raisins. Medium sweet flavor with mellow bittersweet dark chocolate, more dark fruits, raspberry, raisin, earth, subtle coffee. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Great balance in the finish, more layered chocolate, plum, raspberry, mild roast. Exceedingly smooth and drinkable.

Bottle, shared by Mick. Siren Barrel-Aged Broken Dreams (Jack Daniel) 7.4% Deep brown/black with a flavorful nose of oats, coffee, berries & light sweet whiskey with mild oak notes. Soft mouthfeel on a medium body. The taste is oakey, sweet, cola like from the lactose, berries and a bit tart. Really good, it’s wonderfully balanced with subtle use of the barrel.

Black color with a beige head. Dark malt, some oak and chocolate in the aroma. Medium to full body and a soft carbonation. Nice balanced stout without being to much of this and that. Chocolate, toffee, bready, mild oak, roasted and some coffee. Nice!

Bottle @ City Pub during RBScSG. Pours hazy black with a frothy mocha head that leaves some thick trace on the glass while dissipating. Smell is malty with roasted malts, pumpernickel bread, burnt toast, vanilla fudge, charred wood, dark roast coffee, bitter chocolate, moist soil and liquorice. Taste is sweet, bitter and malty. Mouthfeel is soft, velvety, round, tiny roasted astringent and medium to full bodied. Finish is sweet and bitter with roasted malts, dark bread, vanilla fudge, charred wood, dark roast coffee, bitter chocolate, green chilli, moist soil and liquorice. Solid strong stout with a clear but not overwhelming bourbon presence.

(330ml bottle @ VilleValla Pub, Linköping, April 9 2015) Pours very dark brown with an average dark tan head. Aroma of coffee, cocoa, roasted malts, toffee, toasted oak, vanilla, hints of JD. The flavour holds fairly sweet and moderately roasted dark malts, light coffee, chocolate, some woody, smoky tones, oaky vanilla, maybe a little fruit, the whiskey cropping up towards the finish but pretty light. Aftertaste mostly coffee roast with a little wood/whiskey/chocolate. Light to medium body, average carbonation, no alcohol. The barrel character is quite reserved and the base stout is nice but not terribly hefty. Quite decent but lacks a bit of punch for me.

Bottle. A dark brown beer with a dense, finger-thick light tan head. Unclear. The aroma is lovely, with mocha, chocolate, coffee and roasted malts. Perhaps a bit one dimensional. It’s very smooth and soft on the palate, with a nice carbonation level. Full to medium body. Coffee, cocoa, roasted malts and chocolate. Lasting finish with lots of chocolate and coffee. Really nice this one, and dangerously easy drinkable. Lovely. 150328
