15.10.2018, 0,65l bottle (CH/1-2016) shared with friends @ home:
Nice light brown bubbly-creamy mediumlasting head. Aroma is slightly sweet roasted, dark malts, minerals, mild sweet bourbon, oak, bark, vanilla, grass, coconut, alcohol, hints of red sour berries. Taste is slightly sweet sour-ish mineraly, dark sugar, minerals, oak, dark malts, grass, hay, mild sweet bourbon, fruit stones, bark, vanilla, hints of red berries. Medium bitterness, slightly watery and sweet mineraly mouthfeel. Fair enough, too "drinkable"...

Poured from a 22 oz bottle. Aroma is chocolate and cherry forward. Light roast notes with hints of bourbon and oak. As it warms it is more chocolate and roast with less cherry notes. Hints of raisin and dark fruit. Pours black with a medium large, thick, pillowy, mocha head that exhibits nice retention as it recedes to a small head that lingers. No lacing and moderate length legs. Flavor is fairly sweet with moderately strong chocolate notes, both milk chocolate and dark chocolate. Light roast with hints of leather. Medium light cherry notes with hints of raisin and plum. Medium light bourbon notes with light oak and alcohol spice. Mouthfeel is medium full bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low but present alcohol warmth. Overall, a nice beer. The cherry notes are present but well restrained. At first the beer comes off a bit more alcohol forward than other eclipses, but as it warms this seems to change. Solid malt profile with some good bourbon notes.

Bottle at California Craft Beer Summit 2017. Pours dark brown with a darkish tan head. Aroma is woody and cherry and dark treacle and a touch of chocolate. Full bodied. Flavor is aroma, but especially smooth, dark, malty with wood and cherry. Excellent. Super delicious.

Bottle purchased at the source. Pours inky black with a medium very creamy dark tan head, that dissipates slowly and laces well. Aroma is mocha, bourbon, light cherry. Flavor is medium sweet and medium bitter, cherry notes are light overall. Lots of bourbon and kind of a harsh roastiness. Full body, creamy mouthfeel. Perhaps I am compromised, but I am not digging this variant.

Sample at Kurtkeller 025: Eclipse-tastic 01 on 12/23/2016. Brown-black color with a thick foamy beige head that diminishes gradually to a film. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of oak, bourbon, malt and cherry. Full-bodied with flavors of roasted malt, coffee, bourbon and cherry. The finish is oaky with a boozy cherry cordial aftertaste. Enjoyable beer overall.
