Here in Brooklyn we’ve combined European malt and hops, Belgian dark sugar, and raw wildflower honey from a New York family farm to create Brooklyn Local 2. Our special Belgian yeast adds hints of spice to the dark fruit, caramel, and chocolate flavors. After 100% bottle re-fermentation, this ale reveals a marvelous dry complexity, enjoyable by itself or at the dinner table.

Bottle, pours an amber brown with a medium head. Aroma of honey, citrus and orange peel. Complex flavour of much the same. Great beer, though I prefer Local 1.

750 from ericandersnavy. Pours dark ruddy copper with a four finger creamy/foamy beige head. Aromas of roasted malt and citrus zest. Medium body with foamy carbonation. Flavor is roasted malt, zest and notes of honey. This is a wonderful ale, but Belgian? Yeah. Belgians have so many different approaches. This one fits right in. It drinks wonderfully easy. Finish is lightly sweet and fruity, balanced with some malt bitter. Could drink this all day and all night.

Bottle as shown. Pours a dark cloudy brown with a large creamy light tan head that lasts awhile leaving good sticky lacing along the glass. The aroma is a fruity yeast with light malt and brown sugar. Medium mouthfeel with a brown sugar malt with yeast and nice spicy finish. A very good belgian strong ale from Brooklyn.

Bottle at the Bloomington Beer Festival. Poured a hazy light brown with a light brown head. Aroma was of sweet fruits, particularly sour apple and tart cherry with a bit of honey as well. Flavor was more yeasty with undertones of the fruits above.

750ml corked and caged bottle courtesy of tjthresh. I shared this bottle with my brother in law. Pour is brownish copper, hazed with a nicely formed two inch light tan head. Aroma is spicy yeastiness with dark dried fruit raisin and currant. Some cooking brown sugar near the back. The taste is the sweetish raisin and currant up front, with a nice toasty cocoa and caramel maltiness behind that. The spice of the yeast from the nose is evident in the long finish. Palate is medium, coats the mouth nicely. Just a whisper of alcohol way in the back. Nice one, thanks for sending this my way Tom.

Sampled from a 750 ml brown bottle this beer poured a murky dark brown color with a large tan head that lingers forever. The aroma was a complex mix of roasty maltiness, cherries, Bakers chocolate, must and wood. The flavor was tart cherry, caramel, wood and cola. The finish was long with dry cherry, wood and cola. Medium body. Interesting.
