Bomber from Total Wine in Folsom, CA. Pours dark and ruddy copper with a transient beige head. Aroma of tart raspberries. Med body or even better. Flavor is dry/tart raspberry. Some lactic sour in the finish. Relatively smooth and very raspberry. With time the raspberry peels away to hint at astringent oak. Extremely nice sour.

bottle . Pours dark brown, rather unclear, red glow. Small white head. Smell is full, raspberry, mild sour, some oaky aspects. Taste is full, fruity. Extremely sour ( too extreme, not natural, lactic sour ) oak, dry. Raspberrys come across sharp, and intense, perhaps also a tad too intense to be believable. But the sourness here ( although not bad in taste) for sure is a deal breaker. A straight-forward, typical American Sour ( in the negative meaning of the term, where the idea seems to be the more sour, the better, whatever sourness it is ). Whilst there are extremely great US sours (they are different than Geuze-style sours, but not less good ) this is one of the majority US sours, where quality seems to be less important than the hyped taste of the moment. i’ll drink this, I’ll enjoy this, but it’s hard to reccomend this or respect this. More balance and natural flavor could have made this outstanding, like the jester king atrial rubitude ( from Texas ) did extremely well.

Tasting at Matt’s
Dark red-amber color, clean, the head disappears quickly. The raspberry character is strong, aroma and flavor, the body is dry and slim, but there is enough harmony with the malt.
Nice.

This has a reddish-brown colour. No head. The aroma is full of raspberry - more or less artificial and then there’s a nice brown sugar malt character. There’s some tartness, lactic, lots of raspberry character. If you like a straightforward sour with a ton of raspberry, you’re good, but there isn’t a lot of complexity here.

Bottle - Raspberry Jan. Deep, reddish brown with a small beige head. Big raspberry brightness and a long swinish. Fruity and jammy with a nice tart finish.

22 oz. bottle, pours a deep dark red with a small off-white head. Aroma brings out potent notes of tart raspberry upfront, with a touch of sweetness and light acidity. Flavour is along the same lines, with tart raspberry notes upfront, with medium acidity and a tiny hint of sweetness. Lovely raspberry notes here. Perhaps smells a little better than it tastes. Very good.

Real nice mild flavored raspberry sour. Aroma is a little balsamic like. Very clean and fairly easy drinking for being this sour.

On tap at Engine House #9, Tacoma-USA. Dark caramel, huge and tick tan head. Nose: cherries, strawberry jam, slightly sour, ripe red fruit. Very velvety on the sweet side tough. A bit of peach as it warms and apricot jam. Complex. Mouth: fresh, light sourness, clean red fruit and slightly tart/peppery finish. Complex but easy. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
